Today's obvious topic for the Clinton Conference Calls: meaningless polls
(the amazing thing is how un-subtle they are with these theme days now)
I suggest all of us in the "reality-based" world simply ignore them so they sink and we can talk about real issues. How about it?

1. If extended leads in polls were how we elected candidates...
...Obama would have been the nominee for weeks now.

But we don't.

2. If a months-out lead in the polls over McCain
was the criteria for choosing nominees, John Edwards would have coasted to victory.

4. There also was a call to arms to vigorously spew nonsense on any internet board they had access to.

I have hit the hide thread button 12 times so far today. Many here are really shining a spotlight on their ass. I can't say I'm enlightened by the display.

5. I just don't get it. Who in their right mind would think it was effective?
Oh....right....see, I answered my own question there....

6. Agreed, it is also worth note that nobody is activley campaigning against the Clinton Campaign
And that is a big reason for the bounce over the past week.

15. And I'm wondering how best to use my volunteer time for Obama in the GE.
Edited on Wed May-28-08 03:36 PM by AZBlue
Do you think we can take AZ given McCain's "our" sentator here?
Then again, part of me thinks that will make it easy to take the state for Obama - we here know McCain best!

16. I agree. A ton of the conservatives in this state hate him with the fire of a thousand suns.
At the same time though, this is the same state that went for Bush in 2004 so part of me thinks that if we were gullible enough to want a 2nd term, we may be gullible enough to want a 3rd as well... so I've got high hopes, but low expectations.

17. That's pretty much where I am. And I'll be volunteering in CA or other western states.
I'm being realistic about it - probably my efforts are better spent somewhere else that he has a really good chance of winning.

10. It's going to be nonstop polls until Tuesday because it's all they've got left
The amazing thing to me is that with superdelegates flowing to Obama virtually every day that the Hillary supporters and campaign cannot see that their arguments are having absolutely no effect whatsoever on the supers, except, perhaps, to make them do the opposite of what they want.

What magic polls do they think they can conjure up between now and next Wednesday morning that will make the superdelegates overwhelmingly vote for Hillary and switch from Obama?

You're absolutely right - their flawed efforts are fruitless - I guess if they want to waste their time, it's their choice.
