How can one tell how badly Kerry is being GORED by the media?
Really. the other night I saw Stretch run a piece (repeated on Olberman, probably on tweety, too) which was VERY negative about Kerry's IWR vote. In FACT, it LIED about what Kerry said, saying he voted to go to WAR, going along with Bush's lie about it, which they showed, along with a few more insulting clips about Kerry. The respective facetime in that clip was about four to one for Bush, with the whole apparently DESIGNED to make Kerry look very bad.

To his 'credit' tweety revisited that story the next day, correcting the impression that Kerry voted to go along with Bush to war, giving him carte blanche, but, like the swiftliar story, the damage was already done, giving the media their cover for post-mortems (we eventually reported the story, just as we did AWOL, so what's your BEEF?)

I know this is beating a dead horse, but is there ANY way to hold them accountable?

Or should Kerry just make a friggin campaign ISSUE out of corporate media, and talk about it EVERY DAY, making it a centerpiece of his campaign, cause he's sure getting screwed, blued and tattoed, just as Gore was.

I know the CONVENTIONAL wisdom is that he'll just look like a whiner, but the truth is the truth, and he should employ somebody, like, oh, say, MICHAEL MOORE as his top media consultant.

how cool would THAT be?

have him make some films/commercials where he bugs the crap out of the likes of the big three anchors, wolf, tweety, exogal, the human refrigerator, etal, and ask them why they can't tell the TRUTH once and for all, ESPECIALLY about BUSH?

LIKE: this is what the media WILL NOT TELL YOU about the Bush administration

stuff like that

2. Why don't you take out the substance and claim to be a strategist?
That will get this up to 150 posts.

3. I think we are making headway against the media
They are spending the credibility quickly with these things. CNN is in some kind of death spiral. They tried to become Fox, pissed off many of their core viewers and failed to outfox Fox.

Cable tv skews toward upper middle class (read: RW leaning) households. They pander to that viewer base. Now that that base is mixed (GOP voters going to kerry) they don't know what to do. My suggestion for them would be to check their facts and shoot down the middle but that aint gonna happen.

On the upside, they went 24/7 after Clinton and his numbers went up which leads me to believe that cable news doesn't have the power or reach that we tend to think it does. (it pisses me off nonetheless)

5. yes, BUT, I think the anti Clinton strategy was aimed at Gore
Edited on Thu Aug-12-04 03:08 PM by buycitgo
they KNEW they didn't have a chance at convicting on impeachement

BUT they sufficiently tarred Gore with the bogus scandal

remember their refrain: restore honesty and integrity to the WH?

that KILLED gore among the unthinking, unblinking news consumers

PLUS, it scared Gore from using Clinton as a campaign stalwart

speaking of which WHERE THE F*** is Clinton NOW!

they could SURE use him out there, putting the lie to the Farewell Tours raft of constant BS

what GIVES with that?

is Kerry AFRAID of using him, too?

I'm PISSED about that!
