I light a white candle for Senator Obama DAILY. Will you?
Edited on Mon May-26-08 03:42 PM by southern_belle
I am asking that others do the same. I visualize the white light of protection surrounding Senator Obama and his family and pray for his safety, and the safety of his family.

Please kick and rec and tell me what you plan to do - if you will agree to light a white candle or say a prayer or do a novena, etc. for the safety and protection of Senator Obama. The power of prayer and the power of positive energy is strong. Thousands or even millions of people sending their positive vibes into the universe can only help.

I also light a light green candle for Senator and President Clinton for healing, mental clarity, understanding and compassion. They need to have positive energy directed their way.

For those of you interested in doing this, perhaps someone could say a daily prayer on here that we can turn into a prayer chain. If interested, please send me a private message or just start a new thread in the morning. :grouphug:

23. Serious answer- the Truth is like water. It is TRANSPARENT. It takes the color of the vessel
that contains it.

White is the absence of any pigment. Pigment being the symbol of individual desire.

Black is the presence of all pigments combined. Thus a symbolic reference to an individual desire or combined effect of humanity's desire.

12. Good idea!
I do believe in collective thought. Which is why I focus on Obama winning the nomination in November as well as his taking the Oath of Office in January and not as much on Clinton. More focus on Obama will only help him win.

sticker on thier gas-guzzler, I always want to ask them what they had to do to get it...
is it like the Presidential Fitness Award that we used to get in school? Do you have to perform X number of prayers in under a minute? Are there different standards on the bent-arm hanging prayer for men than for women?

These are the things that keep me awake at nite;)

However, I do drum my elbows off for the hope that my nation takes a new, healthy turn. So. Kind of the same idea :)

32. If I prayed to my DOG it would do the same thing.......
Candles and Prayer and any crap like that does nothing. If it did the world would be without murder and hunger and malaria.

Donating $10 or making phone calls will REALLY help Obama.

34. "The power of prayer and the power of positive energy is strong"
Actually, prayer does not do that.

In the largest study to examine the effects of this profoundly personal activity, researchers found that asking strangers to pray for heart-bypass patients had no effect on their recovery. In fact, patients who were told that study volunteers were praying for them were actually more likely to suffer a medical complication.

39. The ability for prayer to heal others can be observed and studied.
Just like the ability for aspirin to relieve headaches can be observed and studied.

God is not a machine.

Why do you think this? How did you come to this conclusion?

40. There are many ways of 'knowing'
The scientific method is only one way. For some people its the only way. And its a waste of time to try to explain God or prayer to someone whose ways of knowing are limited to this.
