Poll question: Just another useless "Unity" thread
I'll start...

I'm willing to forgive Hillary Clinton for anything I believe she should not have said or done, regardless of whether she actually apologizes or not.

I'm willing to forgive her supporters for the same, again regardless of whether apologies are made.

I'm willing to apologize for anything I have said here on DU that offended Hillary's supporters, regardless of whether I meant to offend or not.

I'm willing to accept Hillary being on the ticket - if that is what Obama wants and she accepts.

I'm willing to believe the best of Hillary, because I know that it hasn't been easy for her and she has done what she believes is right.

I'm willing to do all this even if her supporters flame and blame me for things I personally have not said or done, even if they denounce me and say that I'm being insincere and only trying to "suck up to them" to gain their support for Obama.

I'm willing to do these things because we are all Democrats and the other side in this fight for the nomination is not the real enemy. Regardless of our differences we are all opposed to the Republican agenda. I will not rise to the bait and respond to any claims that someone will vote for McCain - knowing as I do there are trolls on both sides who do not reflect the views of the majority of either candidate's supporters; and that they will either change their minds, leave DU, or have their membership canceled if they continue to say this after a Presumptive Nominee is declared by Skinner.

8. Not too well of course.
Feeling like a lone wolf crying in the wilderness sometimes, but the poll results so far are encouraging.

2. I didn't know apologies were necessary,
for choosing the "wrong" Democratic candidate.

4. Let's wait to see how much havoc will Hillary bring to the DNC meeting at the end of this month
They are openly talking about carrying this fight (Florida and Michigan) to the Convention.

9. Forgiving someone you have driven away?
By hatred and anger and abuse?

Like many here, I have occasionally posted things I have had to apologize for (and I have already apologized). There is, however, plenty of blame on both sides and therefore both sides need to be willing to both forgive and apologize. You appear to be taking the position that there is only black and white, good and bad, "with us or against us"... a position which a certain president has already demonstrated is not workable and will not get us anywhere.

12. I'm not at all sure about #5, nor what difference it makes
Has Bush done 'what he thinks is right'?

And the last point, I am sure there are people on the Clinton team, if not the Clintons themselves who are 'the enemy' in the sense that they certainly are not part of the solution, and in fact have hindered it and taken us backwards in many ways, and not just starting in this campaign.

Consider another primary - Lieberman vs. Lamont. Were Lieberman supporters 'the enemy'? Is Connecticut better off with Lieberman as their Senator? Is the Democratic Party better off? Is the United States better off?

What about the primary in Iowa of the 'Democratic' incumbent Boswell vs. Fallon? Are those who oppose the more progressive Fallon 'the enemy'? What if they keep doing it even if Boswell loses? Would they become enemies on their own, or like Lieberman supporters by following Lieberman's example?

Finally, I really do not want to see McCain voters as enemies either, any more than I want McCain voters to see me as an 'enemy'. McCain is not an enemy either, any more than Arianna Huffington was when she supported Bush. The enemy is the Bush policies, and McCain is only an enemy to the degree that he supports them.

A trivial distinction maybe, but it should change an outlook away from personal attacks and towards education.
