Is it me or Obama looked very upset today?
I was just watching CNN and they were playing Obama's speech in Puerto Rico on the GI bill. However in contrast to his previous speeches he looked and sounded pretty upset.

3. Is Obama in Puerto Rico today?
I was hoping he would go there; it's a great island.

5. Or maybe tired. His voice was very calm and I did not see the usual energy from him.

20. He may be trying to be low-key, cool, and calm...
...while waiting for the HRC self-destruct clock to run out.

My hope: "You have 4 days to reach minimum safe distance"...

Edited on Sat May-24-08 02:45 PM by tokenlib
The last two days have been very good for Barack. Then last night the Hillary gaffe stuff came out. It is something he has no control over. And he has a busy weekend ahead. So maybe he's a bit tired..he's more than entitled.

That "Fired Up" story always makes me smile!!!

he is human.

He said he would act human, make mistakes some times, isn't perfect.

I'm tired too - tired of monsters like Clinton who can say anything, do anything,
no matter how evil and it gets excused.

Lying about sniper fire. Repeatedly.

Moving goal posts. Repeatedly.

Was the inevitable candidate.

Mis managed her campaign.

Somehow Hillary blames Obama for her f'ups.

14. my thoughts......
Edited on Sat May-24-08 02:33 PM by ruby slippers
He is in the caribbean, where the air and humidity are stagnant today. Maybe he is just real tired, too, since his schedule in Florida was grueling. I saw him Wed. and I am still just getting rested up. He looked good and sounded good then but he still had two more appearances after that, had been going all day, and wasn't done that night until after 9:00 pm.

Then, of course, he has all the worry about Hillary's mouth, now.

If it is any consolation, a lady I sat next to at the fundraiser was from Puerto Rico. She was so excited. She said that the government of PR was behind Obama and that despite Hillary saying that she had the PR vote, that many of that lady's friends and relatives were behind Obama. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

I do hope Obama gets some rest, though. And, can spend the holiday with his girls and Michelle. McCain surely is having a grand old time this weekend....

15. Hopefully he'll romp in the ocean or at the pool with his kids and "brush it off". I cannot
imagine what he and his family must go through.. not knowing WTH is going to come slithering out of the Clinton Camp and her mouth on a daily basis.

In real life outside of politics, he could have well gotten a restraining order.

18. It must be upsetting to him to hear the kind of things he's heard
over the last 24 hours. He's received threats from day one and now to hear his opponent is waiting "to see what happens" has got to be bothering him a little.

22. Missed the TV coverage
But what you say doesn't surprise me. It's got to be a cause of stress, but from the feeling of offense and 'below the belt' political tactics to purely practical things - you can bet his staff is rethinking any Obama events/appearances in CA for next month, not to mention having that hanging over them for the next 30-40 days. Sure it's an emotional reaction rather than a purely practical one, but doesn't make it any more pleasant to have.
