Hillary drop out.
I have come to realize that Hillary needs to drop out. I still believe with all of my heart that she would be the stronger leader this country needs. I have come to terms that she will not be the nominee. I believe that she will drop out in early to mid june. Hillary will always be in my heart and I will always have fond memories of her. It upsets me to no end when people assume that she is so malicious that she wants Obama assassinated. There are many people on here that I respect but disagree with the way they see what happened yesterday. Hillary drop out because I can no longer stand to read what some have to say about you. Hillary drop out so I can visit DU and not end up crying. I adore you Hillary and I hope you have a happy future.

PS.on a happy note this is my 1000 post.

1. No ccharles000, the fact that you can no longer stand to
read what some people have to say about her is not an acceptable, valid reason for her to drop out.

And believe me, there is a mile long line of DU Obama supporters, who are getting a great deal of joy knowing that they are making you cry.

3. No Cboy4 . No one gets joy out of that.
You are wrong.

I am as partisan as it gets here on DU and my comments are never posted to make people cry. If they do then I am sad.

CCharles000 is one of DU's classiest posters and you could take notes from him.

I could too BTW.

8. He sure is. And you're correct.
However, it's not just I who should take notes.

Or you.

It's 99 percent of General Discussion: Primaries.

Let's be honest sellitman.

16. About 75%
The other 25% is hateful things about Obama.

I tried a John McCain is an asshole thread and it sank to the bottom faster than a rock. Sadly till we have on candidate there will be no unity.

18. Well if the overwhelming number of Obama supporters
who dominate this forum cared about your John McCain thread, there are more than enough of them to have prevented it from sinking like a rock.

That's pretty telling Jake.

It tells me Obama supporters are more interested in fighting other Democrats than kicking an anti-McCain thread.

20. It worries me
Edited on Sat May-24-08 10:04 AM by Jake3463
Alot of things worry me. I'm very worried about the MI and FL fight with the DNC as well and it has nothing to do with Clinton and Obama. Making the DNC the bad guy is bad.

I've been hopeful that Clinton Supporters who don't like Obama would invest their time and money on down ticket races. That's what I planned to do if Obama lost was work for the congressional candidate in my district. I'm worried that by the DNC being made into a villian in this that those races might be effected.

The fact that we can't let go of Clinton, last night excluded because that was a major gaffe being kind, worries me alot as well.

2. Charles, you may have come at a bad time.
Usually, DU is a good place to share political views with people who hope for the same things out of our government. Unfortunately, this is a campaign season and there will be hateful people on both sides who only want to tear down "the enemy"

Personally, I found Hillary's comment extremely distasteful. It was a campaign ending remark and I am pretty sure she will see this by Tuesday or so. I don't think she really wants Obama dead, however, I do think that she wanted Obama to make the comment she just did so that she could go on the attack. Whatever her intentions, the results will be the same.

I hope you stick around as you've been a great addition to DU. And congrats on your 1000th post.

4. Hillary would be a strong leader.. just as Nixon was
Edited on Sat May-24-08 09:30 AM by IndianaGreen
And just as Nixon did, Hillary has a very unsavory darker side to her personality that will be the ruin of us all were she to become President.

6. Charles, I will apologize to you.
Edited on Sat May-24-08 09:34 AM by CaptJasHook
But I will not apologize to the hard-core Hillary hypocrits who continue to destroy the party with their angry and hateful postings. Nor will I apologize to Hillary for calling her out on her selfishness.

I look forward to a time when we can all reunite in common cause. Then I will defend anyone who stands with us to retake this country and remake it into the Progressive Promise found in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

Peace to you today

13. Hey Charles! Is this the kind of hateful post you were talking about?
This kind of hatefulness comes from both sides, Charles. We can only hope they go away when the primaries are done.

12. I don't believe she wants Obama assassinated. But if you don't mind,
I'd like to tell you what I do think.

Many of us Obama supporters have been afraid that some crazy person would try to assassinate him. There is still so much racism in this country and many racists own guns. Some even belong to white supremacist groups that advocate violence.

There are some voters who have said they thought Obama would be killed if he were the nominee, so they voted for Hillary. Her comment only reinforces that idea.

For a candidate to raise the specter of assassination so many times fuels hate and fear. And what if the constant references to Bobby Kennedy's assassination spurs some crazy racist to actually try to kill him?

I think she said this one too many times.

22. I felt that was the Main Reason he didn't campaign much in W VA and KY
But he didn't want to advertise that fact, because it would come off as ignoring the entire state because of a few crazy people. but I long suspected the reason he spent a limited amount of time in those states, was because that's where most of the threats came from.
I lived in KY for 2 years, there was a few times someone tried to run me off the road, or scream the n-word from their car if the saw me minding my own business walking on the street.
Not say the entire state is that way, my experience over all was pleasent, but the violent racism was out in the open then. and the was only 10 years ago
IMO

that this is the way her campaign is ending. As an Obama supporter I really hoped she would end on a high note and not this way.

17. I'm so sorry to hear you're hurting, Charles. It's so sad when someone you
love and respect messes up like this. I don't believe she was looking to get Obama killed for one second.
I do think she was desperately hoping for him to do something like she did. Amazing how negativity comes
back to you, isn't it? Who hasn't ever indulged in it? I know I have. After all the work and hopes she has put into
becoming President, I'm sure it's hard not to fall into desperation when you see you're chance slipping away.

Even though I am an Obama supporter, I feel for the Clinton supporters today. I think it's admirable that you
are not denying her gaffe or tossing her to the wolves. You are grounded in reality. Sometimes it's a tough place to be.

Congrats on your 1000th post, BTW! :toast:

19. Rasmussen: Only 32% of Dems. want her to drop out
http://rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/fewer_democrats_want_hillary_to_drop_out

If you find a poll after today that finds otherwise, you will have a very good point. I doubt you will, though.
