If bringing up the RFK assassination is so bad why are there now so many threads about it?
Why is not the sudden and unexpected end to a political campaign because of tragedy, intended or not, not a valid topic of conversation?

Why have most of the past candidates of both parties only "suspended" their campaigns and not "dropped out"?

7. Context was that she wasn't dropping out because campaigns can end abruptly - even tragically.. nt

11. I certainly wish HER campaign would end abruptly.
Today would be good. Yesterday would have been better.

16. I mean I hope she ends her campaign since she can't win and she's hurting the party.
Unlike your candidate, I wouldn't wish misfortune on someone else.

21. This is not about wishing for anything. The other candidates "suspended" their campaigns .....
...for reasons that are obvious. One of those reasons is if something happened to the presumptive nominee they would be available.

That's all Hillary Clinton was saying.

But hey, seeing evil where there is none is one of those darling human traits that makes us all such lovable human beings.

5. Would you feel this way if Obama had said this?
Her remarks were indefensible, even by delusional supporters. It's sick-making, like talking about how much you stand to inherit if your parents kick off. Tacky. Tasteless. Pathologically selfish thinking.

Daydreaming about what you're going to do with Pop's pension fund when he goes is cold.

6. I just finished watching the movie Bobby about ten minutes ago.
Edited on Fri May-23-08 05:24 PM by midnight
Everyone should see it again since it is over a year old. The speech he gave before his assassination talks directly to the violence in this country. The blemish is not to talk about it. Bobby's assassination happened because at this juncture of the primary he was starting to pull ahead. It was a tough fight for him too. Like Clinton. His older brother\her husband held the position before him/her. Let's cut Hillary some slack. We are a violent country. You can tell everybody Bobby said so.

"What has violence ever accomplished? What has it ever created? No martyr's cause has ever been stilled by an assassin's bullet."
-Bobby

9. Because we're not candidates for President of the USA on television,
speaking of the leading candidate, in a Nation in which assassinations have changed the course of history?

It is indecent. It is immoral. It is uncouth.

If you have to ask, you don't have a clue.

13. This proves most Hillary supporters will have to be tombstoned
If they support these comments, then they are too far gone. It proves most will be gone from DU once Obama accepts the nomination.
