Has Russ Feingold endorsed anyone?
Pardon me for asking, but I haven't heard anything about Feingold on the primary race and I was wondering if I missed something. I may very well have missed something as I am almost completely turned off by the primaries.

I quit coming to DU about a year ago when there were ten or eleven candidates in the race and everyone started tearing each other apart. I've followed the news headlines a bit. Not much though because (and I realize I am likely VERY much in the minority, but I can't stand Hillary or Obama...not one bit) how disappointed I am in the whole thing. I did vote for Hillary in the PA primary because I dislike her less than Obama even though I have vowed for six or eight years that I would never, ever vote for Hillary. I doubt I'll vote for Obama in November (don't worry, I wouldn't ever vote for McCain either) but that could change by then, mostly depending on who he picks as VP.

Anyway, since there seems to be such a fascination with who has endorsed who, has Feingold said anything at all?

Thanks for any answers you can offer and for listening to my little mini-rant. Please don't attack me too much over it!

3. Feingold has said only that he's inclined to vote for Obama in Denver
and that he voted for him in the Wisconsin primary. Just curious why it matters to you.

5. Good question...here's why...
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I am getting a bit frustrated with the Democratic Party at times lately. Feingold is one of the people that seems to still be the type of Democrat that I consider myself to gravitate toward the most. And, given his usual stance on things, I was curious about where he stood on what should happen in the primary.

I suppose in all honesty, knowing now that he's inclined to vote for Obama in Denver, it could sway me a bit. I hope not, because I think endorsements are all in all slightly silly, but it might.

Thanks for asking.

6. He made a statement IIRC in which he said
that he respects both candidates and will support whomever his state supports but is holding off on an endorsement since neither candidate is incredibly close to his progressive views. I'm obviously paraphrasing but that's I believe that's what he said.

9. Actually, I don't think he said anything of the sort. As I recall
the only criticism he had about a candidate this year was his criticism of JE.

11. You're right, I was confused....
This is what he said:

""On the one hand, I really want somebody who has the sort of experience and brain to be president-quality," Feingold said, "but I also want somebody who has progressive principles and a record who is likely to try to do some exciting things to achieve change on a couple of key issues.""

My bad.

13. Not that it matters now, but what was his criticism of JE?
JE being my second favorite Dem. I'm rather curious.

8. No problem. I agree about endorsements
but I confess that my Senators' endorsement/opinion meant something to me. Pat Leahy endorsed Obama and its pretty open secret here that Bernie supports him too. Of course Bernie isn't an SD, so he can't endorse.

14. I have to say that I didn't really buy Casey's endorsement of Obama
I can't say for sure why, but it just struck me as odd and surprising. Apparently it had a lot to do with the '92 convention and his father being prevented from speaking on pro-life issues. I don't know if it's true or not, but that seemed a bit petty. And then the bowling thing...

4. Isn't he part of the Pelosi group?
He's promised to give his support to whoever gets the majority of Pledged Delegates. Obama will pass that number tomorrow and will automatically pick up 8-10 more superdelegates.

7. Russ Feingold and Barbara Boxer are my two most ...
favorite dems. Of all the dems, besides al gore, his endorsement would mean the most to me.

10. Russ comented that either Hillary or Obama would be good
but that he thought that Obama had the greatest potential pay off for moving the country forward and thats why as a private citizen he voted for Obama.

12. He's in Obama's SD column at DCW
based on this WaPo article:

...Obama will also get the vote of Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.), who has not officially endorsed him but said he will support Obama at the convention in deference to his state's voters. Clinton has a similar pledge from Sen. Barbara Boxer of California...
