Anyone watching Meet the Press?
Is MSNBC geering up to give the Huckster his own show or what? I was hoping that we wouldn't have to deal with it as much after his tone deaf NRA joke, but he's on the "roundtable" discussion on Meet the Press, spinning so much crap (predictably). It's annoying enough to have to deal with the spin from all of the campaigns, but is it really appropriate to have a former presidential candidate who is actively campaigining for a current president offer "analysis" as a "Washington insider" (along with Harold Ford JR, that was the "role" Huckabee" was given for the WV primary, which usually goes to Joe Scarborough, which is ridiculous enough)? I know that I am preaching to the choir, but I never really got the Huckabee "charm". I don't think he's AS scummy as some of the others, but as a political "analyst", I don't even think that his attempt at spin bring anything to the table.

2. He thought John McSaim's Joke was funny?!?!?
WTF?

He just said that he was sorry for his gun joke, it wasn't funny, he said. Then went on to say that all politicians do it.He then said McCain's joke about Bombing Iran was funny. GAWD.

I turned it off, but I'm glad someone still watching! Bomb, Bomb Iran funny? I'm glad that his apology couldn't stand alone and that he just had to add that McCain's awkward and insane joke was funny, haha.

I just read that Rove was on Fox today saying that the "Democratic" Congress has a worse approval rating than Bush! I come to expect that stuff from turd blossom, but he still cracks me up. And was saying that GOP needs to pretend (he didn't use that word, but basically that's what he's saying) that they care about issues like jobs and health care to have a chance in November. brilliant, boy genius!

5. he stepped in it again, while trying to step out of the other mess
what an idiot. these guys take stupidity and insensitivity to new heights. I saw that too, and a few minutes later, could not take anymore and changed the channel.

4. just changed the channel, i was getting physically sick watching that "roundtable"
Idiots. He's got political advocates for the candidates that sound like total idiots, sitting around a table talking garbage about their candidates.

What a f*cking waste of time!!!

He should get real analysts on the program, like Rachel Maddow. But then, I don't think I've seen any conservatives with the intelligence and thoughtfulness of Rachel Maddow.

This is really disgusting. Meet the Press is supposed to be an influential news show. And this is the best they can do?

Very sad. This is the quality of tv that millions of people are watching right now.

6. The fact that Huckabee actually said that our "Constitution"
should be changed to reflect the 10 commandments or some similar fluff leads me to believe that he is a very dangerous man.

The most dangerous people throughout history have always been charming, charismatic, funny, easy-to-like, ingratiating personalities that SUDDENLY started getting people killed!

10. Huckabee, Murphy, Ford and Schrum.
A political faction seems to be missing from that mix. However, the middle and the right are amply provided for.

11. I just caught the end of it...
Edited on Sun May-18-08 10:02 AM by ErinBerin84
and Tim Russert was "thanking" everyone and....did he really just say "Vice president" Huckabee? If I heard that right, it sounded like a slip, like he says it not teasingly or with irony (like, it was a verbal slip, if I heard correctly. I'll have to watch the rerun later). Gross.

and Chris Matthews just started..said "Will Obama be able to get regular democrats?" Wait..I thought he needed Reagan democrats? Ohhh, I get what he means. Regular PEOPLE! The people who drink coffee and not orange juice at diners.

15. The Huckster just threw Reagan and McCain under the bus in his mea culpa...
Pointed out that, accidentally, Reagan mentioned nuking the Soviets and McCain sang "bomb bomb Iran" with live microphones.

Delicious.
