Original message
For my 1000th post I'd just like to say how proud I am of Hillary Clinton. She is a wonderful person
and a fantastic senator. And even if she doesn't win she will no doubt be the greatest president we never had. I consider myself better off for having associated myself with her campaign. I am still praying for a Denver miracle, but even if it doesn't happen history will surely vindicate her. As Cheryl Mills once said: "it's those facts...those stubborn facts." It helps to have them on your side, at least in the long run. They will easily outlast David Axelrod.

And an additional thumbs up to President Clinton, who is easily the best president of the last 40 years. And God bless Chelsea, too.

The Clintons have done so much for this party and this country. And I reject any patronizing, self-serving comments about how "they threw it all away," or "it's ashame their legacy will be mixed with this disgraceful campaign." That's just talking points by those who want to deliver a certain degrading message about our fine former president and first lady. I don't consider their legacy to be the least bit tarnished and I don't see any evidence that she is in any danger of losing re-election in NY in 2012. I also can't begin to imagine Obama winning the GE without some serious help from her--this "new coalition" just doesn't exist, at least not to the same extent that some would like.

Let me conclude this 1000th post by declaring--without apology--that I will be a Clinton-Gore Democrat forever. And of the three, Hillary is the best IMO. She is everything this country needs in a president and if she can't pull it off then I have no doubt that she will make a great Senate Majority leader (sorry Obama people, but she is still very popular in the Senate) or perhaps a tremendous Secretary of State in the O'Malley Administration some day.

Might want to amend that statement in a little while.

7. That accusation will be laughed out of the history books. Her campaign was mild, no harsher then
Gore vs. Bradley or Mondale vs. Hart. And Obama took some serious shots at her too. The way that Obama people talk--with such self-righteous arrogance--about her "tattered legacy"--says more about them then it does about her.

about this beautiful lady. I didn't think I could ever be prouder of her, after I watched her courage in the last years of Bill's presidency, but she has certainly proved me wrong. Through diversity, mudslinging and downright shenanigans, she shines through, like a beacon. We will never have a female or male candidate so right for America at the right time.

Rise, Hillary, Rise!

Although neither candidate was my first choice, (it was Kucinich) I'd have happily voted for either one in the GE. It looks like it's going to be Obama, but I do admire Hillary. She's tough, and it shows, against all she and Bill have been through these past 16-plus years.

I'm enough of a political junkie, though, to want to read any of the tell-alls, if any, that come out about her campaign about what really went on behind the scenes, since she started out as the one who was heavily favored to be our nominee. I'd also like to see one about Rudy G., the nominee for the other party, and how his campaign sank so quickly.

The Clintons saved the Democratic party in the 90s, a fact that many seem to want to forget. We Clinton supporters won't forget it and will watch closely how Hillary is treated in the upcoming weeks. Mess with her and there are many who will fight against the anointed one with as much vigor as we fought for Hillary. Hell hath no fury and all that jazz.........

I know that, if anything, HRC has set back women's rights. You don't falsely accuse sexism while you disenfranchise the AA Community and NOT pay a dear price.

Your *love* for a WOMAN President above all else has put blinders on you.

Consider watching the actions of the average AA - their working and middle class views on "The Clintons" from this point on? Why? The Clintons will NOT EVER regain the trust and support of the lion's share of that community. AA know the "dog whistles" that are racially laced ... as do many others not "in love" with The Clintons.

57. There is no evidence, beyond McGovernite wishful thinking, that Hillary is in any danger
of losing her Senate seat. No respectable bookmaker would give better odds to Obama winning the presidency then to Clinton winning re-election to the Senate.

Clinton didn't use race, that's a blatant Obama lie. He is the one who used race.

You can have your feelings about HRC, but you can't volunteer other people to share them. Hillary has a lot of support in the Senate, and I even expect Kennedy to support her bid for majority leader. And after Obama goes down like McGovern the nonsense attacks on her character will have worn off.

60. You really believe that, don't you? You honestly believe that she needs him more then
he needs her. That is the arrogance that defines a losing GE campaign. Obama will be in desperate need of her support if he gets the nomination. This "new coalition" just doesn't exist.

Hillary doesn't need Barack in order to redeem herself. Barack needs her in order to get elected. And you may think that her legacy is in shambles, but you don't speak for all Americans. And that kind of arrogant, self-righteous attitude--"her legacy has been destroyed"--sets up a lot of satisfying high-five moments for Obama people. They don't, however, get him elected.

that somehow her support is conditional. It is THAT attitude, that she even has the choice at all to decide whether or not to support Obama in the GE, that defines arrogance.

The point is that she doesn't need him--he needs her. Her legacy will be fine. His election prospects won't be.
