12. Done, and those numbers still stand!!
Looks like the whores are not playing their cards right! They are so blatantly pro-* it stinks. We have outed them through the Internet, our own, albeit few, pundits allowed to voice opinions on cable and network channels, the written press (to some extent), Air America, and F911. Hope I'm not being overly optimistic, but those whores don't seem to have the country's undivided attention anymore!

22. This is a bullshit question, of course.
The issue is who will be more EFFECTIVE at stopping/defusing terrorism. "Toughness" does not equate to nor necessarily lead to "effectiveness".

28. 57% Kerry now.
I thought the wording was interesting, though.

I'm not sure I'm really looking for someone "tougher" on terror. I think what I want is someone smarter on terror.

Bravado and arrogance have just dug us deeper into this mess. I think brains and diplomacy are part of the answer for getting us out.

37. Because they feel that would not be fair to Bush?
He can't be smarter and we know he's not effective, so either of those phrases would skew in favor of Kerry. :)

41. I wish they'd say "Smarter" and "TerrorISTS" not "War on Terror"
War on Terror?

So are we gonna outlaw horror flicks and Halloween.

Terrorists are murderers. Treat them as the lowly thugs they are. Don't treat them as a mysterious, subversive threat.

We're smart, we know why they're angry (religious fanaticism, poverty, nationalism, etc.) so we could be SMART and address the sources that produce that anger, or we could just add to them (preemptively bombing and invading Muslim countries).

I'd like to think Kerry would utilize a smarter approach to capturing terrorist cells and addressing the social and economic problems that create them.

45. What exactly is being 'tough on terror'.
Edited on Mon Aug-09-04 03:00 AM by Sean Reynolds
To me that is a code word for the neo-cons and their continued imperialist war on nations that don't conform to the American right-wing ideology.

Sadly this is what pisses me off so much about the Democrats. They feed into this faux war against terror as if it were a true threat. A war based of substantial evidence that the United States is at major risk. When in reality, we're at no greater risk today than we were 10 years ago. Well I take that back, because of George Bush's and the Democrats' 'war on terrorism' we are at a greater risk.

So if tough on terror means Kerry will continue America's policy of pre-emptive attacks, what difference does it make?

Terrorism isn't going to go away, no matter WHO is president. We can continue down the path of endless war, and fear. Or we could just accept the fact that there will be terrorists no matter what, and go about our lives like we did pre-9-11.

Sounds harsh, but it's the truth. If the threat is greater today, it's because America made it that way. If we change our international dealings, the threat will curb and we can go about living our lives as if we weren't in some wild George Orwell book where government controls the masses by the base of fear.
