OK, I've watched Bush and now Kerry on C-Span "People of Color Unity
Edited on Sat Aug-07-04 05:19 PM by KoKo01
Conference" which has aired (I believe, twice).

And, I saw Bush first and just now Kerry. Kerry left "roadtracks" on Bush. The applause by these journalists for Kerry overwhelmed by huge amount the tepid clapping with mittens on for Bush.

I thought Kerry gave a "Barn Burner" speech. Even though as a "demonstrating anti-Iraq Invasion DU'er" I thought his answer was "tepid" about why he voted for the Invasion...and I was yelling at the TV Screen sayin: "WE KNEW...WHY DIDN'T YOU!..WHY DID YOU TRUST THE BOGUS INTELLIGENCE AND VOTE FOR THIS INVASION OF A SOVEREIGN COUNTRY!!!WHY...WHY???"

Still...I accepted his answer, hoping he has learned even though his answer was weak..THE REST OF HIS SPEECH WAS a BARN BURNER.

Try to link both Bush/Kerry's speech to these "Journalists of Color." C-Span often repeats online at their site: "C-Span.org" for those of us who missed it. Or, maybe they will repeat both speeches in the middle of the night.

I felt Kerry's speech addressed many of my concerns about "FCC/Media Deregulation/Native American Rights and Rights for all peoples/along with Education Reform (revisions of "No Child Left Behind") and Corporate Reform for "Outsourcing" and "CEO Gouging."

He's thoughtful and serious...but he tried to answer even the question by a journalist about Bill Cosby's statements about "minority responsibility" in a way I could deal with.

I am a Dean/Kucinich so I'm very hard on Kerry...but this speech was one of his TOP BEST! The "last best" speech of his was one he gave before he ran for President on the "Environment" in 2002. If it wasn't for his "Iraq Vote" his speech on the horrible state or the Environment would have had me in his pocket. His "war vote" made me back off.

I won't go over to Edwards yet..but I will say that Kerry really won a big part of me over to him with his speech to "Journalists of Color."

GO KERRY!

1. Thanks for the report.
The United States of America will be a better country.

America is a much better country than what Bush offers. We will win it back. We will win America back.

2. Good! I'm so glad Kerry is out there giving "barnburner"
speeches. I heard one of his in Ohio on Sunday ..the day Before the convention..Thanks for this report.

I've already heard how *'s speech went at the Unity Convention.

I'm like Dean in the respect that my differences with Kerry/Edwards are miniscule compared to my Differences with bush and the cheneny gang.

5. I missed most of Kerry's speech
but his answers to the questions was wonderful. He's going to be a great President. Trying to watch Bushie* now(this is hard), they just removed a heckler. What was he saying and boy does the Bushie* get thrown off by people heckling him. Applause is tepid at best, nothing for the tort reform.

6. I forgot to point out, that Bush's Reporters asking questions were screened
whereas Kerry's reporters were REAL! There's a HUGE difference if you watch the two different speeches, back to back.

Bush got former CNN's Joey Chen...and Roland Martin...where Kerry had about five real folks..not from the "cables/networks" asking him questions from their hearts...and he took time to answer them all, not doing a "belly up to the bar" Bush frat boy, "we are all chums, here," answer to serious, honest questions facing AMERICA...not that damned Nazi thing they call "Our HOMELAND!"

7. I am not so sure about that.
He fumbled so many of the responses that I don't think they were submitted in advanace.

Also, at the end of the original telecast, CSpan showed him glad handing his way out of the hall, and with full profiles from both sides. We looked very hard, but couldn't see his earbud. So, perhaps unKKKLe Karl might not have been feeding answers to him, either.

My wife noticed the real bad hair dye job (dark hair at the temples), and thought that the earbud must have been recently implanted.

8. Ooops! Forgot to submit questions in advance Or
they did and he still Blew it! Probably never know.

They're dyeing his hair now?

I bet it's the last time they put him out there without an earpiece.

10. Zidzi...I missed his hair...the horns were in the way! I should have
looked closer...but I was so horrified at what was coming out of his mouth! Other DU'ers have said his hair was dyed...but I watched on an old TV..so it might not have shown up. I might have missed that earpiece, too...I'm sure it was there..what would he do without it? It's bad enough with it! :D

9. Joey Chen? As opposed to folks I didn't know from Native American and
Hispanic culture? I don't think so...but you need to watch it, to see the difference. Both appearances.

11. If only the 'undecideds' would take the time
to watch these two back to back, this election would be over.

12. True....it was a great "side by side" view for analysis....
How many "undecideds" will do that, though. Dems are banking on it, but I wonder. At least Kerry "tipped his hat" to the Left of the Dem Party.

I thank him for realizing we are here.
