Just when the Vietnam vets are getting a sense of closure and respect from that war, along comes this Swiftboat vets smear campaign and raises questions on the legitimacy of the commendations, not only to Kerry, but also to everyone who was in that part of the war.

I would be in a rage if someone questioned the legitimacy of my commendations in that war after facing potential death 24/7 while on duty there. This, on behalf of a bunch of chickenhawks who backed out of going to Vietnam so they can stay in their cushy stateside way of life.

It will backfire. In spades.

3. This ad was a big blunder
In my opinion. It just shows what mean-spirited assholes these people are. I think a lot of Vietnam vets that received their own medals are not going to like that there are those that would question their validity, whether it be for John Kerry, or any other veteran. They all earned their medals for just being in that hell-hole for any length of time.
