The country really is polarized this election, so short of an October Surprise I can't see the numbers changing over to W in any sigificant way..

6. Nader 5%
HOW can Nader still be at 5% - I would think common sense would have kicked in by now:mad:

9. You cannot penetrate know-it-all smug. Nader voters are smug.

11. Nader's At 4% In That Poll
and it's a meaningless statistic because we don't know how many ballots he'll be on.....

13. Think of it this way
Say you're a Nader supporter--you really think Kerry is almost as bad as Bush, but this year you realize the importance of the election and are going to hold your nose and vote for Kerry. If you were polled, you might use that as an outlet for your frustration with the system by saying you would vote for Nader, even if, in the actual election, you would vote for Kerry.

8. Time just told George he has to wipe out a city. Basically.
Or not enough fools will vote for him.

Thanks, Time.

10. Iraq Was The Only Pushover On The Axis Of Evil List...
Bush wants no part of an attack on Iran because he knows that an overmatched Iran would throw waves of twelve year olds with keys to heaven at American troops as they did in their war with Iraq....

And an attack on North Korea would ensure that Seoul would be turned into dust....

He'll just have to run the old fashioned way... On his record....

12. Orange alert didn't help his campaign - time for Bush to try a red one
If that doesn't help his campaign, be very afraid of what he might try next.

14. Do these two numbers bother anyone else?
"Less than 1 in 3 voters (31%) say that they follow the alert levels "very closely."
* Only 1 in 4 voters (26%) say that they're being "more careful" because of the elevated terrorism alert, but 73% say that it's "business as usual."

OK, so, 31 percent of the people asked said that they were following the alert levels very closely, but only 26 percent of people asked said that they were being more careful during an alert. That means 5 percent of people asked are following the alerts closely, but don't do anything differently.

What kind of person cares enough to closely follow the alert level, but not enough to actually do anything? It's just weird.

17. It's just the way the questions are worded. And a lot of people
really aren't interested in much when it comes to this.

16. This poll was taken August 3 - 5,
Which means it was taken before much of the violence in Iraq and the awful economic news on Friday. The poll was taken during a period where the focus was on security alerts and Bush's fearmongering. The numbers for Bush have likely gone down, not up, especially on the economy.

18. I agree, he will sink more
before the convention. Just a few more points down, and any convention bounce will not help.
