I'm assuming that Obama is the nominee because, while it is theoretically possible HRC could still end up as the nominee, the odds against it happening are overwhelming.

With that in mind, I'd offer a couple of things for those HRC supporters who have indicated that they may write-in HRC rather than vote for Obama to think about. (I'm not even bothering to address those that say that they'd vote for McCain).

There are two possible outcomes from HRC supporters mounting a write in campaign:

First, the campaign is unsuccessful and fails to draw enough votes to make a difference, in which case it makes HRC look like she is less popular and weaker than she is.

Second, the campaign does draw away a signficant amount of support from Obama -- enough to cost him th election, in which case HRC joins Nader in the ranks of most hated people among the majority of Democrats.

In other words, the best thing that HRC supporters can do to protect and preserve HRC's legacy if Obama is the nominee, is to help get him elected.

2. Absolutely. A write-in campaign would only make her a joke or a pariah.
