The Kool Aid has lost it's punch . . .
Imagine with me just for a second or two

Imagine you are an Independent or a Republican who sipped the crisp, cool, glass of Kool Aid handed to you four years ago. Your gut told you John Kerry was the better man for the job, but you believed the only issues you should listen to were those about the fear of gun loss, the rhetoric about the gay marriage issue, the swift boating and that the Patriotic thing to do was to vote for another four years of GWB. You didn't stop and think because you were too busy to pay attention, or you didn't have any real issue hitting your pocketbook or didn't have any chance of your child going to war.

Stay with me here, folks... I said 'imagine' you were one of them.

Now roll the tape back to the horrific days after Katrina rolled into New Orleans. Remember watching with horror as GWB ate cake with McCain? Remember watching him withhold the help for a photo op? Remember the tears rolling down your face as you wanted to do something to help. Remember the shock of realizing just how bad our government is. Yes, I know you all knew it was bad, but remember we are imagining we were one of the ones who drank the kool-aid.

Now fast forward to today. How many people who didn't listen four years ago now have their eyes wide open? How many of those same people are struggling to make ends meet? How many of those same people lost their homes or had relatives that did? How many of those same people have finally had enough of the war? How many of those same people will be willing to drink the kool aid again?

Do you see the same that I see? Are eyes wide open? Are they mad as hell when you see them at the gas pump? Are they just as upset as we are? If not, are they close?

This election can be won easily by people like Joe Biden calling BULLSHIT, BULLSHIT! This election can be won easily by ensuring that everyone who Bush weaned off of the kool aid has a sign in their yard, by citizens of all walks of life, standing up and saying, "WE ARE MAD AS HELL AND WE ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE"

The kool aid has lost it's punch...

1. For a second, I thought this was another 'Obama Kool Aid' thread
Now I know it's about ass-flavored Kool Aid! A lot of people got fooled into thinking ass-flavored Kool-Aid was tasty good, but they've finally realized it tastes like ... well, ass!

And not to nitpick, but your "it's" should be "its". :hi:

4. Oh hell yes!!! Now serve a damn subpoena on Rove and back up that sassy talk we heard today!
I get all tingly when Dems start talking back. I know many have given up on them and for good reason, but I will be first on my feet applauding when and if they make today's attitude a trend. :D

and Congress has the power to do it now that the White House and Justice Department have turned a blind eye to Rove's crimes

10. If Biden was our nominee then the general election would be a cake walk...
and we could feel confident that the best would be leading our country. But the Democrats wanted to play games with our future.
