1. Historically I see no way a GOPer can retain the White House

in the current political climate. McCain is a terrible candidate and worse campaigner. The GOP brand name is in the toilet and their nationwide registration is nearing an all-time low at 27% (take out the Confederate States from that and extrapolate.... scary).

We control the Governorships and state apparatus in Ohio, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. They have Florida. I like ours better.

4. I'm a little afraid, but not because I don't believe Obama will win.
He WILL win ... I'm just afraid that those damn machines will say McCain won.

5. Why should we be afraid?
Obama will run circles around McInsane. The American people are tired of the Bush-Reagan style politics that we put with for the last 28 years.

6. In a legal voting system with an honest media, this would be a 50 state landslide
But even 2004 should have been. Basically it comes down to a massive turnout that Diebold will not be able to hide. We know who brought the new voters into this process, and sure as Hell wasn't Grandpa McLoon.

7. I don't think there was really a huge amount of voter fraud
but I do think that HONEST MEDIA is the keyword there.

That is something we don't have, and it makes a difference.

8. The pukes are finished..
It's almost over. (except for their whining when we kick their sorry asses like never before).

I would like to see their political defeat topped off by some sloppy (Saddam style) hangings of the chimp and his traitorous gang of thugs.

19. I love your attitude, but please remember this is far from over
We can get cocky the day the electoral college certifies our win and our Senators and Congresspeople are sworn in. Until then, keep swinging and get ready for it to rain mud being slung from the other side.

10. We are the ones that will "work" the media.......
if we are organized, it can be done.

If we just sit and watch and are not active participants, that is what would make me afraid.

...we don't here it much at DU, but I'll bet there are conservative Republicans who would NEVER vote for McCain.

16. I'm not so sure
Obama is intelligent, and is a brilliant speaker with a family that looks like it came off a Hallmark card. Add to that the nomination of John McCain -- a nominee widely disliked by his own party, and a candidate vowing to continue the policies of a wildly unpopular president. On its face -- it looks like a no-brainer win for us.

Having said that, I always bet on the stupidity of the American people.

I remember thinking California was ready for a black governor. All the polls indicated we were ready to elect Tom Bradley, but when the votes were counted, we ended up with Dukmejian.

Now we have a black man with a foreign sounding name -- and not just any foreign sounding name; his middle name is that of the Iraqi dictator this nation demonized for a decade, and his last name looks remarkably like that of the most hated terrorist in American history. I'd love to think our nation can look beyond all of that, but we're the same group that elected chimpy -- twice.

perhaps in an attempt to persuade people that Hillary should be on the ticket. Gotta say I've had just about enough of that kind of exploitation of fear and doubt for ulterior motives, regardless of how veiled the suggestion may be.

No, I don't fear losing the General Election. Not this time. Not with Barack Obama on deck. And, for the record, Hillary Clinton is the antithesis of his vision for America and she has demonstrated she will be kryptonite anywhere near the ticket.

22. I explained it this way last night:
Put them on TV next to one another.

America will see -

1. Cool, young handsome dude with an even temperament, and

2. Pasty, sickly-looking old man with a temper and a brain that may have been fried long ago.

Kennedy-Nixon II.

26. Oh, come on.
Look at McCain's conference call today - he attacked Obama with Bush talking points.

If you (or McCain) think McCain is going to win by tying himself to Preznit 27%, you should maybe get some sleep.

McCain is going to make a shitload of bad moves between now and November - and David Axelrod is just the guy to make sure everyone notices.

28. I'm not afraid at all,
Right now! We're less than 6 months from voting next November, and as it gets closer I may get a little afraid, but I am confident that Obama will run a great campaign, just as he did against Clinton. As posters here have already said, I don't think the repugs are all that happy with McCain, either.
