Abrams lecturing Obama supporters again: STFU and accept Hillary as VP
Edited on Thu May-15-08 08:20 PM by LittleBlue
He says "I know you don't like her, but..."... "they simply hate Hillary Clinton so much"... "they're not looking at it in terms of winning and losing..."

First, when did Abrams ever help Obama? He ran the Pastorgate nonstop for two weeks. Second, when did he donate a moment of his time in this campaign? He didn't. He has nothing at stake. Even Cliff May disagreed.

One guest questioned whether Obama supporters hate Hillary, and Abrams responded "I promise they do." WTF?

1. Yes this is getting really old!
I am so tired of hearing him rant on this crap, and he needs to drop it!

She will rally the republican base, lose independents, cross over republicans, and ensure that McCain is the next president! Why the hell can't he address these things?

2. Luckily Abrams has no say in choosing our VP
The guy has a generally interesting show but he's really thick-headed when it comes to certain political issues.

4. Of course Obama supporters hate Hillary. They admit as such unless responding to this thread.
Edited on Thu May-15-08 08:23 PM by zlt234
But regardless, Abrams is pretty neutral. He vigorously defended Obama over bittergate.

We just hate her policies and tactics. Personally I wouldn't dislike her at all if she hadn't voted for the war.

8. I agree about Abrams
He did defend Obama over bittergate, though he focused too much on Wright. He can be obnoxious but he's mostly fair, it seems. He picks on everyone from time to time.

Edited on Thu May-15-08 08:25 PM by mmonk
Hillary is quite amusing since polling of Clinton supporters is overwhelmingly anti-Obama to the point many declare they would help McCain and the republican party. Silly Abrams trying for ratings.

10. He made a compelling argument BUT I just
don't trust Hillary anymore. Logically it seems fair to offer her the position because she had so many votes, but the woman lacks integrity.

Look at how easily she lies to us about the Gas tax plan, the Michigan/Florida situation, sniper fire. Look how eagerly she accepts Bush's framing of Iran... She basically voted for IWR part 2!!!

I really want Obama to win, but on the other hand, I don't want to have to shut off the TV in disgust whenever Bill or Hillary commandeers the microphone. I don't ever want to see them again once these primaries are over. I truly believe that they would undermine Obama at every turn. It's just not worth it!

You're just full of advice..take it yourself..hire hilary as your vp in charge of whatever you do and see how you like it.

In the meantime I feel like emailing him and telling him "NO".

15. Abrams has always been for Hillary
Although I'm shocked that he'd so blatantly say so.

And yes, I hate her, and anybody who had watched this election honestly would too. People who are willing to win when their opponent wasn't even on the ballot are worthy of loathing.

30. I don't think so
I don't think you can come out a Republican with Floyd Abrams as your father.

I think a lot of people have been confused by some of these pundits because they didn't understand they were repeating DLC Democrat rhetoric, which often sounded like right wing rhetoric, particularly on Iraq. If you sort them out and start seeing which mainstream journalists were speaking for the DLC Dems, and which for the Bushies, I think you get a clearer picture of what happened these last 8 years.

18. Is there really nothing else on "VERDICT" to dicuss
every single night other than the possibility of a ticket that probably won't even happen? Honestly, I don't even think that Hillary would want to be Obama's VP, and as an Obama supporter, I'm ok with that. Dan needs some bizarre cult, sex slave, or girl on girl fight story to come up in the news so he has some new material for a week.

21. I actually wrote him an email just now.
Telling him to please stop trying to push the Clinton as veep thing. It's painful and he's been doing it all week. The media cannot force Obama to choose someone if he doesn't want to or if he thinks it may undermine his message of change vs. old politics. There are plenty of great governors (and others) to choose from who would do very well as veep. She isn't the only person available, has high negatives and the whole mess. It's like asking Obama to wear an albatross around his neck. Why on earth would this be a good idea? His idea is a terrible one and his frantic selling of the point every day this week is getting very tired. Obama doesn't owe Clinton anything and she's not entitled, end of story.

That was the gist of what I told him, nearly exactly, actually. I swear, if he keeps pushing this I'm just going to have to tune out because he's really hammering away at it and he just has no right to try to force this because he found some poll to support his silly idea.

29. I had to email him last night after listening to him push this bs again
Your continuous drum pounding for a VP slot for Hillary is disingenuous, much like the media's calliope music for a non-stop primary. As a matter of fact, she has not "earned the right to be Obama's vice president" as you suggest, since no such right exists. It is the sole right and responsibility of the nominee and his advisers to make the choice of a running mate who will create the best balance for the ticket. There exists no bronze medal or consolation prize here.

Let's see if he reads it, coming up.
