Obama Helped Supporters Get Millions in Illinois State Business
http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?id=4861699&page=1

In a speech to the Urban
League last July, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., boasted of his efforts in 2001 to help a handful of African American-owned investment firms in Chicago get a larger share of business with Illinois state pension funds. "And in six months, they got about a half-billion dollars' worth of business simply on their excellence," Obama said.

What he did not say in his speech was that the owner of one of the investment firms, John Rogers of Ariel Capital, is a principal campaign fundraiser. Nor did he reveal that employees of the firms he helped have since contributed to or helped to raise more than $765,000 for his campaigns, according to campaign documents. Nor did he mention that two of the firms have allowed him to use their private jets. Nor did he mention that two of the firms have since been dismissed by the state pension fund for "underperformance."

I have much fewer problems with Obama's fundraising efforts (and use
of private jets) than I do with Bomb Bomb using his wife's plane or
HRC's cozying up to Rupert Murdoch and relying on other big money
donors.

20. Politics as usual, according to an ethics watchdog group. But wasn't Obama supposed to be better?
Final paragraph of that article:

The executive director of an Illinois ethics watchdog group calls it politics as usual. "Did he get contributions from those companies down the line? Yeah. That story's been told a million times in American politics, and it will be told a million times more," said Jay Stewart of the Illinois-based Better Government Association. "I don't think Obama's any different."

Meet the new pol, same as the old pol...

....is not going to emerge and rescue the Clinton campaign from inevitable defeat this primary season.

And while we are finding a way to reconcile ourselves to who our nominee shall be, let's start figuring out how to gird our loins against the republican noise machine that isn't going to go down without a fight and THAT FIGHT is more important to ALL of us than our petty internecine warfare.

29.  If it makes you feel better, I'll concede that Obama supporters are a bunch of meanie poopieheads..
...and Hillary supporters are an oppressed minority who's suffering cannot be adequately expressed without being compared as equivalent with the Inquisitions and massacre of the indigenous Americans and suffering of AIDS victims in Africa.

Do you feel better?

24. Ok now wheres the article about who is funding the clinton library
why won't McCain's wife release her tax records since McCain is using her corporate jet at a huge discount. What promises did Bill Clinton make to those corporations that were paying him $800,000 per speech.

Exactly how many american jobs left this country because of the policies Bill Clinton put into place during his administrations? I.E. Magnachench. Like that was the only company sold to Chinese business interest.

And as far as companies being dismissed for under-performance, well thank God the system of checks and balances works somewhere, it sure as hell didn't do shit for this country where President Bush is concern. NOW THAT's SOMEONE WHO NEEDS TO BE REMOVED FOR UNDER PERFORMANCE.

At least OBAMA was helping American Owned Businesses

32. And HRC has delivered 500 million in earmarks benefiting 59 corporations...
and 64% of those corporations provided funds to her campaigns through donations made by employees, executives, board members or lobbyists, according to the LA Times.

SOS, diff candidate, diff rep... The day that all campaign funds are publically financed will be the day all influence buying ends, and we can truly reclaim an America by and for the people.

Remember Hillary's comment about she could have stayed home and baked cookies? Her comment was a dodge to a reporter's question as to whether Bill Clinton had funneled state business to Rose Law where Hillary worked .

In six years as a member of the Wal-Mart board of directors, between 1986 and 1992, Hillary Clinton remained silent as the world's largest retailer waged a major campaign against labor unions seeking to represent store workers.
