1. Did they call it a lead or a tie the way they usually do?

4. THey called it a tie as usual.
They also brought up Kerry's comments about the 7 minutes. Of course they didn't mention that he was answering somebody's question.

7. Yes, Al Franken discussed that.
Franken asked:

Was Kerry supposed to say, I would have frozen, too?

22. one play we MUST adopt from the GOP dirty tricks bag
once Kerry takes the White House is media access.

I can't help but think the media is so nice to Bush because they know if they go too hard on him they will get the call from the WH telling them to stop or no more reporters allowed access to anyone in the admin. (Yeah, I know, they are owned by corporate America but access has to be pretty high up on priority list too.)

Kerry should have a tough guy enforcer too. Sure, the media will scream about it but that will be easier to ride out than what we had with Clinton for 8 years.

3. Nice but....
It's only August.

It might encourage Nader supporters that it's "safe" to vote Nader.

I really have come to hate the never-ending polls

"Vote for Nader if you live in a safe state."

The Democrats need us now and we should show them our maximum support.

8. Nader voters
IMO only someone who wouldn't mind Clarence Thomas as chief justice would vote for Nader.

15. network shame
The networks refuse to admit that if the election were held today Kerry would win. This is the glaring conclusion any disinterested observer would reach seeing Kerry ahead in MOST polls in most of the battleground states, seeing MOST of the electoral projections putting Kerry ahead and seeing MOST of the national polls showing a 2-5 point lead. If Bush comes back for whatever reason of course some, most or all of these advantages will disappear. But for now Kerry is significantly up.

16. Wonder why Bush isn't way out in front of his opponent
Edited on Sat Aug-07-04 11:56 AM by MODemocrat
The fact that he is the incumbent should put him way ahead of his opponent. Plus the fact he has the media and talking heads working for him full time, covering his tracks, and trying to make him seem presidential. No one is allowed to say anything negative about him without paying dearly for it, so if he isn't be running 2 to 1 with all this bolstering, he's just, in fact, not capable, and people are finally beginning to figure him out. He's been running on scare tactics for three years.
 :hangover:
