Chart shows how Bush's "Terra Alerts are hurting him"
This comes form a link off of electoral-vote.com. It shows Bushes Approval rating with the 3 major bumps in popularity being 9/11, Iraq War and Capture of Saddam. This also shows all the "Terra Alerts". It looks like all these crying wolf "terra alerts" are killing Bush's Approval rating as of late.

Keep digging guys, you'll be a 6 feet soon an this election will be over!!

1. Small bumps up, then larger slides down
He slides, he lies, then he gets a small bump -- and slides back lower than where he began.

Notice, too, how the alerts are coming more quickly now, and his "gain" from the last five total about -2% of the 100% range (or -5% of a 40-point range).

People don't like being played, and the graph shows it.

4. Read what the Votemaster who creates electoral-vote.com says
about approval ratings and the reelection of an incumbent:

History tells us that when an incumbent is running for reelection, his job approval rating is the best predictor of whether he will be hired again or fired. An incumbent with a job approval rating above 50% usually gets his contract renewed, but when it falls appreciably below 50%, that spells danger.

6. I love this site!
I go there first thing every morning and love to read his comments. You made the approval rating chart easier to read, though! Thanks! :D

9. That makes sense with our two-party system.
The country is generally evenly split between Democrats and Republicans, so when a president's approval rating is below 50%, it means that he's losing some of his base.

In contrast, when a president's approval ratings are above 50%, it means he's getting approval from some of his opponent's base.

I love the direction this chart is going.
Every time I see a chart like this it improves my belief that Kerry is winning this election, easily.
And I already have a very high degree of confidence that he is going to.
