Poll question: What's your biggest regular activity for helping Bush get defeated?
Just wondering how active people are in politics. I tried to rank things in terms of how much effort and/or risk is expended. Probably left a few things out.

4. GOTV
That's what it's all about. At the local level, you can affect every campaign when you concentrate on voter registration and information.

5. I am among many volunteers to get Governor Joe Kernan reelected
Kernan is a Vietnam War ex-POW and he is running against chicken hawk, former Bush's Budget Director, and Lilly lobbyist, Mitch Daniels.

7. You have your activity level wrong for the last one.
Participating in DU or other forums can be a high-level activity. It is participation in an open source think tank. People on DU routinely contribute research and insight that strengthens the Democratic case and highlights the (many) weaknesses of the people currently running the Republicans.

Your own poll is an example. It's a call to canvass, register, etc. It motivates the troops.

DU helps me argue progressive causes in daily conversations, sharpens my thinking and writing skills, and makes me an activist.

Used well, DU activity deserves a 10 on the activity level scale. DU can lead to all of the others. It inspires, teaches, motivates, and organizes.
