Election ended at 8:30 AM EDT on 8/6/04 - Write it down.
The bad job numbers killed any chance Bush had.

It was the only thing keeping him in the race.

Even a terra attack won't help him.

It's going to be a landslide for Kerry.

Kerry will win by ten points and get every battleground state.

And maybe some so called safe red states.

Bye Bye Bush. Now watch those Voting polls. People need to go in groups and keep watch to make sure nothing fishy happens.

4. Still almost three months to go - Write it down.
Seriously, don't give up fighting. This is STILL an uphill battle.

Somebody wrote on DU, "Kerry's VP will be Vilsack - Write it down" the night before he chose Edwards, too. That's the thing about the future: it hasn't happened yet.

5. Its too late for Bush - His approval rating is unrecoverable.
Its like trying to turn an aircraft carrier around.

And the news keeps getting worse for him.

6. Did you see the MSNBC / Newsweek article posted today?
I hear what you're saying, and it makes sense...BUT...check out this article and the DU discussion of it. A terra attack is not the only dirty trick that Rove / Hughes are capable of:

7. The effect of 9/11 is overrated. For most people it happened on TV.
Lost jobs happen in person.

8. OK, but when Bush promises...
"I won't rest until every American who wants a job has one," how confident are you that a landslide voting public will see that statement for the horse crap that it is?

His approval rating, as bad as it is, is STILL too damn high, IMHO...

9. When they predict 250,000 new jobs and get 32,000 - its a catastrophe.
No one will believe them.

11. Yes, and I agree with you. But you read his reaction to this, right?
"In Columbus, Ohio on Thursday, Bush said: "The economy is strong. There's more work to do. But remember, we created 1.5 million new jobs in the last year."

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&ncid=578&e=14&u=/nm/20040806/pl_nm/campaign_jobs_dc

...as well as Scott McClellan's response, which is so mind-numbingly stupid I can't believe he could say this with a straight face:

" While White House spokesman Scott McClellan said the president was not satisfied with the jobs report, he attempted to put a good face on it. "Today's employment report shows our economy is moving forward and it also is a reminder that we're in a changing economy," McClellan said."

This photo was taken two days ago in Davenport. A LOT of smiling faces. TOO many. What's it going to take to turn these people around?

12. When your political philosophy is to not touch anything..
When something goes wrong, you can't say you can fix it by touching things.

They are stuck in their government can't do anything box.

14. Exactly.
Kerry has been saying the same thing lately..."Why are you talking about how your administration will provide health care for uninsured Americans when you've had over three years to do something about it and you've done NOTHING except put more money in the pockets of the pharmaceutical companies?"

He's all talk. That's my concern...if the voting majority understands that, then your original assertion in this thread will be true. That's the work that lies ahead in the next three months...making sure that people take a cold, hard look at his "accomplishments."

And they can't fix it with the invisible hand of Adam Smith.

17. I completely agree with you.
Today oil price was at all time high, stock market was at new 2004 low. Not only July job number was bad, May and June numbers were revised lower too. Some economists are now questioning Greenspan's assertion that economy's slow down in the second quarter was just temporary.

15. Keep that to yourself until November 3
No matter what the polls say up to Election Day, act like Kerry is behind by 10%.

We have to drive this puppy over the hill with all we have in us.
