3. <43% is apparently toast territory by many pundits
so will people still vote for someone they hate? It happened in CA in '94 with Pete Wilson against Kathleen Brown. His approval was in the 30s at the start of the year and shot up to the 40s by election day. I know I was on the front line. The wind is at our back but it doesn't mean it will close the deal!!!

20. Yes, we've heard that for MONTHS!
I think there are SOME voters who sill stick with shrub no matter what happens, but there are quite a few others who simply want to vote for a WINNER! If it continues to look like the shrub will lose, it exacerbates his troubles. All those people who don't pay a lot of attention to politics until the last week before the election will vote for whoever LOOKS like the winner!

have to bust him down a little more. Remember our fight is not over yet, Karl still has loads of tricks up their sleeve, like the Republican National Convention, Osama Bin Laden pulled of a foxhole in Iraq (yeah, right!), Weapons being found in Iraq, postponing the election, terror attacks, 200 million dollars, Diebold, turning votes in every state in the U.S., the entire media, NRA endorsements in October, and of course, the chance that, fearful of losing to Kerry, Kerry will be off'd b4 the election, and John Edwards will be the new candidate, thought they'd probabbly have less of a chance after that. If only we could resort to treason like Republicans always do when they are losing (68' and 80', for those of who can't recall. But fortunately, we love our country too much. If we didn't love our country we would purposely lose this election in order to insure that the Democratic Party would be in power for at least a decade or 2 (after 8 years of Bush, who would still want to be a registered Republican?)! But the hand has been dealt and now the time has come to play it.

24. I Agree
With FOOTBALL coming back on Monday Night may I use a comparison?

Your team comes out and gets down early.
Then you make some plays and it's tied.
The other team makes some mistakes, mental and strategic, and falls behind.
They continue to make turnovers and you take advantage and score on each gaffe that they make.

"You play to win the game" Herm Edwards Head Coach New York Jets.

We need to rack up as many points as we can.

These clowns are coming back using deception and trick plays.

Score NOW.

Let THEM play catch up.

The numbers were even worse for * three months ago:
58% disapproval vs 42% approval. So don't get overexcited.
On the hand, it's nice to see that the chimp doesn't get better :)

8. The bottom is dropping out!
44% approval was confirmed by, of all places, FOX NEWS yesterday.

Seeing as Bush's core support is somewhere around 38-40%, he's in serious danger of cratering.

D'ya think Karl Rove wished he hadn't scheduled Bush's nomination for EARLY SEPTEMBER? By then, any bounce may be too little, too late.

18. I have also been saying for a while..
That we should expect a new version of Operation Northwoods - the old Pentagon proposal from the 60s to stage terror attacks to blame on Cuba as a pretext to invade. Kennedy said "no" when the plan got to his desk. If Cheney & Rummy came to Bush with a similar plan, would Bush say "no"? I don't think so.

23. I hope they keep saying that. B/c maybe then Diebold won't feel...
... the need to "correct" as many election results. Then, Kerry's landslide will take everyone by surprise.

You know, there have been a lot of elections that have been "close" in popular vote (within 5% or so; see Clinton vs. Bush 1992). But many of those have been electoral "landslides". So far, state-by-state polling results are showing Kerry is headed for an electoral landslide; say about Kerry's 330-350 to Bush's 190-210.
