Great Bush AWOL story
There is a well-researched and elaborately documented story at

www.rawstory.com that appears to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Bush was AWOL. If this story is true (and it is backed up by no less an authority than a former Assistant Secretary of Defense under Reagan), it blows Bush's story away, and should end once and for all the dueling about the candidates' war records. It would also make him a liar and a coward in the eyes of the Viet vets who are denigrating Kerry for his 4 months and minor injuries.

I understand why the mainstream (i.e., lazy/cowardly/dumb/conservative) press is ignoring it, but I have no idea why this one isn't getting lots of play on the lefty websites.

An I missing something? Is this guy wrong or crazy or something? What gives?

1. Welcome to DU, defoliant! In truth, I don't know why this story hasn't
moved. John and company at Rawstory.com and BlueLemur.com seem to be the only ones really moving on it. I hope it gets picked up soon. Perhaps we could start harrassing our media outlets about it.

8. That is EXACTLY what we ought to do..
Somebody on this board must know a newspaper reporter...or the webmaster at another liberal website. Why don't we all start beating the drum?

2. It has been around here for quite a while and the Ass. Sect of
D under Reagan was supposed to confirm it on Monday (which he did). Until some mainstream press picks it up, it is just kind of stuck. There were a lot of threads about it on DU last week and earlier this week.

3. I have been sending the story to every web site I can think
of. I tried sending it to Michael Moore, but his mailboxes are full and it bounces. I sent it to the Guardian and the Times of London, figuring the UK press seems less beholden than ours is. Hell, why doesn't DU give it some prominence? When you Google the story, Raw/Lemur is the only place that comes up.

This is the ideal antidote to the swift boat attack ads, and I will turn into a raving conspiracy theorist if the story dies.

That I stated my support for anyone. I just offered a different viewpoint, that's all.

10. Maybe I misunderstood you, but
posting, as your very first post, a link to that despicable ad won't win you many friends.
