Obama's GOTV was A ++++ Supporters On The Ground Stories
are welcome on this thread ~ thanks.

This is my On The Ground Story from Los Angeles....

Saturday May 10th

It was organized by a Master Organizer ~ Barack Obama!
It had his stamp all over it.
Cheerful, inspiring, positive --- no one, I mean no one that spoke said one negative word about his opponent. Obama would have been so proud of his "students."

You could see it in the positive tone set by everyone on his staff, the volunteers and the 300+ that attended while I was able to stay.

Started exactly on time, people were of every hue, all ages - the children were adorable/holding signs they made and cheering, all economic levels and all so friendly and excited about being there.

Volunteers had a clear vision of their tasks -- directing the parking, signing you in, selling buttons/shirts, coffee/donuts with a cup for donations that didn't force you to donate but you
just did it because you wanted to.

The location was perfect! It was in the heart of Urban Los Angeles yet people from the Valley and South Bay were there at 8:30 AM, FIRED UP and Ready to GO!

It was precision and yet very relaxed... Jasmine Guy, Kerry Washington, Tatiana ? from one of the sitcoms, politicians, Union workers, long time community activists.

Great music!

There were special seats available for the Disabled with a lovely blue bow to give dignity to that important area.

The Chairperson reviewed our Voter Registration Packets and each line of the FORMS.

Every part started exactly on time.

We were dismissed by teams or friendship groups to begin registering and return in 3 hours.

My Mom wasn't feeling well so I had to leave but now I understand the process and can Register people on my own.

I registered hundreds of voters for the Kerry Campaign and I loved doing it but we started about 2 months before the election.

This organizational strategy is the best!

:patriot: Please share your on the ground storied for Obama

3. I'm on my way to a meeting wearing my Obama T Shirt

Make yourself a walking billboard. :)

It's been working for me.

People stop me on the street and say good things about him.
It's better than a bumper sticker because you can interact with the people and tell them why his election is so important.

GET your OBAMA t-shirts now supporters :)

this is exactly what we need to do to win--at all levels---from the county offices to the national ones.

4. His experience as a Community Organizer
is so apparent.

It touches his web site, his internet use for the 21st Century, his fund raising ability, his get out the vote campaign, his positive message, his ability to reach out to all people.

He has enormous "experience" that has not been seen in the history of our country for a Presidential Race.

5. I sincerely hope
this organizational skill spreads throughout the Democratic Party. Right now, at least here in WA, they couldn't organize a bake sale.

6. The Los Angeles Organizers were just amazing

I think some of them were from his Main office, not sure.

But he will probably use the "trainer of trainers" model to get everyone up to it on a National level for the General.

8. They should be letting us know
ASAP.

As soon as I find out I'll post it.
:bounce:

Since voluteers were turning in their packets in several locations (Valley/South Bay etc.) we didn't get a final count.
