Corps struggling to find a candidate, so far favor Obama

Pharmaceutical industry employees and PACs contributed $516,839 to Bush in 2004, compared with $280,688 for Kerry, according to the Washington-based Center for Responsive Politics. This time around, they gave $339,729 to Obama, $262,870 to Clinton and only $74,850 to McCain through March.

==============================================================

One cash cow for Bush's campaign has become a large source of funds for the Democrats. Employees working in the securities and investment industry contributed $9.2 million to Bush's 2004 campaign, almost twice Kerry's $4.8 million. This time, Obama's $7.5 million and Clinton's $7 million from the industry are almost double the $3.8 million that McCain has brought in through March, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

==============================================================

Energy companies are focused on bigger issues than earmarks. For the 2004 election, energy employees gave $4.9 million to Bush and $757,502 to Kerry. So far this year, they have given about the same amount -- $1 million -- to the three candidates.

1. Companies can't donate, and Obama doesn't accept Lobbyist Money
If individuals want to contribute - then so be it.

Everyone is required, by law, to list their employer. If the office assistant, the mail clerk, or the CEO choose to donate - they all fall under the same rules. $2300 max for primary & GE. My husband happens to be a contributer under the Software/Tech Industry. And I, as his wife, fall under that as a spouse of, donation.

1.5 Million individuals have contributed to Obama at least once, with many more doing so multiple times. We're one of the many times, contributors. Donating anywhere from $10-100 at a time.

2. Jesus. Buy a fucking clue
Obama has 'bundlers' who work on behalf of certain industries. I find it interesting that McCain is the only one of the three that has said "fuck you" to BigPharma. To read this you'd think that he was the "populist" candidate. The more things change the more things stay the same. :eyes:

Obama needs to keep promoting his young netrot voter image so he can attract the yute' vote, but he's going to need a lot of "bundlers" to help him out with a GE campaign.

The repukes will force Obama to spend much more time in safe blue States like CA and NY which he can't do with a bunch of $10 contributions from young netrot voters. If the guy outspends Hillary 3 or 4 to 1 and loses in some states..... how much will he have to outspend McCain? 5 to 1? 10 to 1? The guy is going to need a shitload of money.
