If Paying Off Her Debt Is The Only Way To Keep Her Off The Ticket
then I've decided that it would be money well spent.

At this point, I can only conclude that Hillary is continuing on in order to force her way on to the ticket. There is no other reason.

I would hate to have this ticket of "change" compromised by having the Clintons plotting to get the kind of power that Cheney has. I just don't see how it could work.

Like most people I suspect, I started this thing off as a Hillary supporter. But somewhere during the process it seems that her character got vetted unintentionally.

I don't want the old way of doing things anymore. I'm willing to try something new. But I want it to be a fresh start.

3. HRC has no leverage. She won't be on the ticket and BO won't pay her a dime.

6. That's what my son said when
we were talking about that last week. I had forgotten about that and laughed when he said it and felt immediately better.

I think David Axelrod said this morning something to the effect that there was no negotiation to pay off her debt.

Amazing how these rumors get oxygen.

10. That's cool that he referenced the same thing. I thought it was telling.
  An indicator of personality.

I'm also amazed at how these stories get "oxygen", as you phrased it. I shouldn't be though. The news cycle on here can be from a half an hour to 2-4 hours, when something's "breaking" or at least purported to be such. Think about the Mickey Kantor video or some of Clinton's attacks and Barack's counter attacks as a good example.

Of course, with that kind of speed, the wheels sort of come off like a dragster that's jumped the track. But it keeps on going...sometimes barreling into the crowd.

14. Yeah, I was being
very dryly humorous with the "wonder where the rumors get oxygen". I think they start the damn things..and like you say the wheels come off and sometimes in goes barreling into the ether.

One thing of note..my son isn't on the computer..he gets all his info from cable and it amazes me sometimes the good stuff(facts) that he mines from there.

7. Obama can't. It would be illegal.

He can make appeals to his donors to contribute to her for that purpose, but his campaign can't contribute more than $2300 to her.

9. I'll send her some money if she will just go away.
She earned it.

Now she should go back to New York.

Permanently.

11. It's not ideal, but it's not a huge deal to me. After all: all the other money he's spent...
is really aimed at getting her the fuck out too, after all.

12. He can ask that others help pay off her debt, but can only directly give her $2000

From the FEC page on contribution limits:

A federal candidate's authorized committee(s) may contribute no more than $2,000 per election to another federal candidate's authorized committee(s).

13. She's not interested, so why offer?
Its nothing more than an attempt by Obama's business backers to bribe her into leaving the race.
