Valerie Plame & Michelle Obama
{1} Obama, Plame luncheon keeps politics off menu

More than 1,800 Democrats turned out for Illinois Rep. Jan Schakowsky’s annual women’s power lunch Friday to hear Michelle Obama and Valerie Plame-Wilson talk about how their lives have changed under the media glare. …

She hinted at the length of her husband’s campaign taking a toll. "There are babies who were born when he announced, who are now walking and talking," she said.

But mostly, Ms. Obama emphasized the struggles she says women across the country are feeling. "No matter who we support, we must be committed to working together," she said as the crowd cheered.

Ms. Plame-Wilson, also the mother of two, acknowledged meeting Ms. Obama before the noontime event, saying, "We have a lot in common. I will support the Democratic nominee whoever it is without question." And she kept her speech to the crowd focused on telling her story about what led to the government revealing her identity and its effect on her family. ….

{2} Michelle Obama, ex-spy Valerie Plame attend Chicago event

Both Plame and Michelle Obama were in Chicago Friday to separately headline Democratic U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky's big annual fundraiser dubbed the "ultimate women's power lunch." …

"Both of us know a lot about having our lives suddenly turned upside down from private to public in no time," said Valerie Plame …

Even Plame, who says she is a Clinton supporter, is ready to back whomever is the eventual nominee.

"She has the heart and the backbone for this job, there's no doubt about that. And I think she has made Senator Obama a much better candidate," Plame told reporters at the event.

Plame said she got to meet with Michelle Obama before the luncheon. Besides being cast in the spotlight, the two also share that they are raising young children

(Note: I think that the articles about Valerie Plame and Michelle Obama were interesting. Their meeting had been mentioned in passing earlier, in response to a thread regarding the commercial that Joseph Wilson andValerie made for Senator Clinton. I know that Senator Clinton had provided support for the Wilsons from the early days of the "Plame scandal." I respected their choice to endorse Hillary Clinton for president. And I'm glad to see that Valerie Plame made it clear that she will support whoever the democratic nominee is.)

1. Argh! I hate the way this was framed
"Even Plame, who says she is a Clinton supporter, is ready to back whomever is the eventual nominee."

:puke:

Of course she's going to back the nominee--she's a DEMOCRAT!!!! Argh!

6. While the wording
may not be the best, the concept is. Valerie Plame is an important figure in national politics. That is perhaps especially true, as her and Joe's civil suit may be moving forward.

2. Yes to both points.
They had reason for their support of Clinton and I'm glad Val stated publicly they would support the nominee.

10. Six.
I almost always have every pet fixed, but when my son moved back in with his new doggie, there was an unexpected event.

It's been about 40 years since I've had puppies to tend to.

11. Right.
The corruption of the current administration needs to be a campaign issue this fall. Joseph and Valerie Wilson are good people, who were done wrong by the republicans.

13. Semi-OffTopic: Rep. Jan Schakowsky (the event host) is interested in replacing ...
...Obama in the Senate. She said as much on the radio yesterday and from what I know of her (not my district) she'd be a good choice.

16. Another feud that never happened.
I had no doubt Valerie would support the eventual nominee because she realizes the stakes are too important. Those who try to separate us by pointing out that some of our most admired Democrats disagree on who the nominee should be (should have been?), will find that plan unlikely to work as the General Election gets underway.

Those who would let their personal preferences get in the way of making millions of live better don't seem much like Democrats to me anyway.

Have fun with the puppies. That looks like quite a pile of trouble waiting to happen.

21. The father is
a bulldog, the mother is a lab-shepherd mix. However, when speaking to people who may wish to provide a home to one of the six puppies, I ask, "What is your favorite breed?" and claim they are "part" that. Even when one friend said he prefers cats, I assured him these are 1/8th cat.
