Nader will drop out.
I think Ralph Nader will drop out about 1 month out from Nov 2nd. I believe that at that time, if Bush is really close or ahead he will can his campaign and endorse Kerry. I could be wrong but I don't think so.

2. I think you're right. I just don't believe his ego is so
out of whack that he would welcome the verbal abuse he is going to take if Kerry loses to Bush. I could also be wrong, but I hope not.

3. That's wishful thinking
Nader will not drop out, no matter what. I think he may actually think that a Bush win would be good in the long term.

Kinda how Germany and Japan got such nice economies and democracy to boot out of that WWII thing.

5. On the West Wing Senator Stackhouse dropped out in October
The only thing close to that I could see would be Nader dropping out in October, but not endorsing Kerry and not doing anything to promote John Kerry. He could say he was "suspending" his campaign.

His ego is just too great to be a team player.

6. I dont think your right. When asked he says he couldn't do that to all of
his supporters :eyes:

He doesn't get that people drop out of political races all the time apparently?

Nader really needs to drop out. He is only hurting himself and his legacy.

10. I think he wants Bush to win, because he thinks if Bush wins
again, then in 2008, we will all be so disgusted at the state of our Country that we will elect him. That is of course if we had elections again.

11. Why I don't agree.
By early October, I think even Nader will be able to see that his impact on the race will be so small that there will be no real reason to drop out.

13. That dumb ass has never figured out that politics is
a lot about compromise. He will stay in, even if it results in another Bushco win. That way, he can feel like a big shot who affected history. This is all about his ego, not what is best for the country.

17. Olddems got it right
People who worked with him in Nader's Raiders say he will never drop out. One guy said Nader will hurl himself off a cliff and take everybody with him first. He is acting like a victim now, telling Kerry to "call off his dogs". This is a jealous, deranged little worm who is determined to get even with the Democrats for not going far enough to the Left for his liking. For those of you who think Nader will drop out, I'm here to dash your hopes.

My 83 year old dad said it best. In 2000, after Bush was escorted into Thw White House he said about Nader, "That Goddamned pied piper, I'd like to string him up - he knows how the game is played".

By the way, Nader was asked recently about whether he was destroying his legacy. His answer? "Oh, who cares about my legacy - what do you think they're (Republicans) are going to do? Tear seat belts out of cars?"

15. Too late -- he'll already be on the ballot
Frankly, it makes absolutely no difference whether he drops out or not if his name is on the ballot. After all, as crazy as Nader's supporters are, I think even they must realize that he isn't going to get elected president. These people will continue to vote for him regardless of whether or not he drops out, because for them, voting for Nader gives them the opportunity to wallow in their own self-righteousness. Voting for a major party would be tantamount to admitting that they are human and are responsible for their actions. These people don't want to sully themselves by voting for someone who could actually end up becoming the next president.

16. He's too stubborn
Edited on Mon Aug-02-04 10:56 PM by LeftPeopleFinishFirs
Nader will not drop out, and it's evident if you know what it is that makes him tick. He thrives on being the opposition, he thrives on being the black sheep of the presidential elections. Ralph Nader doesn't run to win, he runs to make himself feel better and for there to be a dissenting voice. I'm by no means a Nader supporter, but I will speculate that he will stay in the race. He has a huge ego, as we already saw from the 2000 election. There is nothing different this time around, for him.

He'll stay. Dropping out would go against his general purpose of running...

Nothing would make Ralphie happier than to once again spoil an election. He would have dropped out by now if this was not the case.

that getting 3% of the vote nationwide brings.
How else do you pay for the multi million dollar townhouse in Georgetown? You have to have street cred to continue running as a nationa presidential candidate and get donations.

Ralph won't withdraw.

Not that I disagree with his take that both parties have sold their soul to large corporate donors.

22. Bill Maher and Michael Moore ...
... they both got down on their knees (literally) and BEGGED Ralph Nader to drop out of the race. Nader was a good sport about it. And Maher made sure to highlight Nader's impressive achievments and contributions to consumer safety.

32. Believe it when I see it
I'll take back at least half of the nasty things I have said about him if he does. But I think he is so obsessed with his vendetta against the Democratic Party that he actually wants to see Kerry lose.
