Go Gov Dave!!

Wyoming governor Dave Freudenthal will face off against Bill Clinton at the Montana version of the J-J dinner this week, speaking for Barack Obama (whom he has endorsed). Gov Dave is NOT an orator; his voice sounds like a bunch of big rocks being rolled around in a 55 gallon drum and his vocabulary runs to 'Nope', 'Yep' and 'Like Hell We Will'. OTOH, he's completely unintimidated. He says Bill Clinton is a great political orator and he's going to just enjoy listening to him speak.

Montana governor Brian Schweitzer and Gov Dave fight like bitter enemies over things like water flow in the rivers that run through both states, but they're an interesting emerging force in western politics.

2. As usual, Dave will NOT write a speech in advance...

he makes a list of things he wants to talk about and then just goes at it. For months he refused to endorse either senator, syaing that neither of them were speaking to issues of importance in the intermountain West. A few weeks go he changed his mind. If Senator Obama can convice Gov Dave there are a lot of other folks he can reach, I gurantee it.
