Obama live on CNN.com now.
I don't know how long it's been going on, but it sounds like he's answering questions.

2. Barack was here in Bend, Oregon, and remarked on our "pretty real estate"
He spoke for half an hour, mike in hand, no notes, then took questions for about 25 minutes. Our two local TV stations covered the event live, which was good because tickets for the town hall were gone in an hour yesterday. He was introduced by Myrlie Evers Williams (Medger's widow) who lives in these parts. Great speech! I'm now going to complete my mail-in ballot and take it to the county drop-off box before the May 20 deadline. Tomorrow Bill is going to do an appearance about a mile from where I live, and I'm pondering whether to try to negotiate the crowds (bad knee issue) and see him. I have every intention of voting for Obama, mind you, but still think I'd like to see Bill if I can. Maybe it's the moth to the flame thing!

3. Thank you so much for the rundown.
It sounds like it was a lively event.

Good luck with your knee if you decide to go see Bill. Nothing wrong with wanting to see an ex-President, in my opinion. :hi:

4. You're welcome! It was a lively event indeed.
I used to feel like one of the only Democrats in these parts--nice to see over 2,000 show up to cheer for Barack. Gives me hope! The last time a serious presidential candidate came here was Bobby Kennedy in 1968. Been awhile! Thanks too for your good wishes about my knee--it's becoming quite annoying! 'Twould be fun to see Bill. He wants us to bring our ballots and drop them off there. Probably best I don't mention I voted for Barack! ;-)

I checked on the local TV station that aired Barack's speech and they have posted the video, maybe not the full thing, but it's on www.kohd.com if you want to view it. He really does connect with his audience!

5. VenusRising, I'm getting a msg that makes me think mine may not have got to you.
So--forgive me if this is a duplicate!
