The Big Lie
A favorite Rove tactic, and before him, a favorite Hitler / Goebbels tactic.

Goddess of Peace:

Voted for Iraq war, which has led to probably a million deaths
Voted to enable Bush to wage war with Iran
Threatened to Obliterate Iran (on more than one occasion)
Apparently has no problems with kids getting blown up by land mines

Where in the HELL is this "Goddess of Peace" crap coming from??? It is a huge lie.

3. until clinton drops out of the race this place is only going to get worse
keeping du "positive" in the face of continued full blown primary war is like trying to stop the tide

it's not time (yet) for unity. it's sill a full blown war out there. take a look out the window.

4. i hear ya, but
really i was aiming for "positive" in an attempt to keep my own sanity, not so much expecting it from DU. i just had major eye surgery and the pain meds make me a lil more emotional than usual.

2. The standard counter point is that she isn't " for War", but she is/was for the CHANCE
of war, the chance that thousands and thousands of people would suffer and die, millions and millions of orphans, economic enslavement of ALL future generations for ALL time, exponentially increasing threats of revenge terrorism, fewer and fewer friends amongst the other nations of the world. She supported at least a 50:50 chance of these things, which, though indeterminent, given the extreme RISKS, was unacceptable. She supported a 50:50 chance of all of these hideous things happening BECAUSE she planned to run for pResident. She took a huge gamble with people's lives, because she needed to be able to say she is "strong on defense". I think part of her thing about lower economic classes now is really more about GUILT.

AS SMART as she is, she

SHOULD

have come up with some more creative ways to show her strength on national defense.

13. The thread was titled "The big lie" because
it is in incredible lie to call Hillary the "Goddess of Peace" given her track record.

Now stick with the facts and dispute that, if you can.

9. The big double standard
Obama has supported the war with every vote in the SEnate. When he could have done something, he remained silent.

When he needed to make a decision on Iran, he spoke: called them terrorists, said he would attack them if they started helping those in Iraq, but hid from the K-L vote.

Said, on more than one occassion that he would attack Iran if they attacked Isreal with a nuclear weapon.

Has no problem getting people killed by land mines.

10. WRONG - Obama voted FOR Land Mine Ban

Cluster bombs and landmines are particularly terrifying weapons that wreak havoc on communities trying to recover from war. They are fatal impediments to reconstruction and rehabilitation of agricultural land; they destroy valuable livestock; they disable otherwise productive members of society; they maim or kill children trying to salvage them for scrap metal. Over 150 nations have signed the 1997 Mine Ban Treaty. In the autumn of 2006, there was a chance to take a step in the right direction: Senate Amendment No. 4882, an amendment to a Pentagon appropriations bill that would have banned the use of cluster bombs in civilian areas. Amendment No. 4882 was an easy one to vote against: Who'd want to risk accusation of "tying the hands of the Pentagon" during a never-ending, global War on Terror? As is so often the case, there was no political cost to doing the wrong thing. And there was no political reward for doing the right thing.
But Senator Obama did the right thing.
Senator Obama of Illinois voted IN FAVOR of the ban.
Senator Clinton of New York voted AGAINST the ban.
Analysts say Clinton did not want to risk appearing "soft on terror," as it would have harmed her electability. Amendment Rejected.

11. Obama's calculations are the same type as HC's BUT for a different constituency.

Bidding for different sets of voters:

Hers were for herself, FOBs, and PNAC.

Obama's were for Us.
