hair pollution!
Did anyone else catch this in Kerry's speech when he mistakenly said "hair pollution" instead of air pollution?? We backed up the tape several times and sure enough, he did say "hair." I think it was because the word healthcare was coming up in the next sentence or something like that. We couldn't help cracking up and were certain Jon Stewart would do something with the clip - so far he hasn't.

Don't get me wrong - I enjoyed Kerry's speech and fully support the campaign - but had to see the humor in his little mistake.

("Terrorist" instead of "Anti-Terrorist" was worth a rewind and a chuckle as well....)

3. I heard both of the mistakes, but he's entitled to one or two

don't you think? But when he starts sound like the chimp, that's when I'm gonna start worrying. Did you or anyone else see Kerry at a press conference soon after his prostate surgery--it might have been something to do with his announcing that he was running for Pres. or that he had successful surgery. The mind grows dimmer and dimmer, but I remember this remark so well when he came upon the stage. Someone nearby must have asked him about his surgery and his remark was: they took out my "aloofness" gland! I heard no laughter; no comments were made. Perhaps someone else heard this besides me???

4. I thought it was funny too
And given that entire calendars are made of Bush's flubs we can afford one or two from Kerry.

6. Wasn't it "hair pollution in Harleem"? It was a laugh in an
otherwise faultless speech. The bigger "gaffe" is David Brooks' about face, he was floored by Kerry's speech then dissed it today.

10. Oh yes, one or two flubs is NOTHING compared to the chimp
I didn't mean anything negative towards Kerry by bringing this up - it was just funny and we laughed WITH Kerry rather than AT him.

Yes, it was an otherwise flawless speech and I laugh more at the Republicans for grasping at straws to try and discredit it.
