Strongest at top of ticket? Posted: Friday, May 09, 2008 10:42 AM by Domenico Montanaro
Filed Under: 2008, Clinton

From NBC's Chuck Todd

The Clinton campaign releases that, "several members of Congress released a letter today to other Democrats touting their support for Hillary, saying she is the strongest candidate to have at the top of the ticket in the fall: 'e are convinced that Hillary Clinton has the vision, skills and commitment to make the changes our country needs. As Democrats who have run and won in competitive Congressional districts and battleground states, we believe that Hillary is best positioned to successfully lead the Democratic ticket in districts and states like ours around the country.' (Read the letter.)

the other 63 had difficulties

13 said that they had sprained wrists

18 said they couldn't find their reading glasses

12 said they wanted to see the Spanish translation

5 answered in a foreign accent and said "solly he nawt hom now"

10 said that the preferred to give vital support 'under the radar'

5 said that since they weren't 'hard working whites' that they were too lazy to sign it and that she should get some really hard working white person to sign it.

I hope it isn't too hard for you to realize that.

Cordially,

I think she has become a liability. I was on her bus for a long time, but I truly sense that the people want some real change to begin NOW and they know it won't happen at all with McCain so they will vote whatever the Democratic tix is going to be--even if they are Hillary loyalists.

9. Let's hope you are right that "loyalists" to the Clintons -- as well as all the other
"also rans" -- will be able to get together on this.

Meanwhile, I still see avatars with Kerry, Gore, Edwards, Kucinich, etc. around here.

Peace, love and happiness,

Radio Lady in Oregon

12. Talk about "elitist"
So we should throw away the results of something like 53 caucuses and primaries and leave the nomination in the hands of 16 geniuses who have managed to accomplish a grand total of practically nothing as legislators because the possess the wisdom and power of Oz?

13. unity
Edited on Fri May-09-08 07:53 PM by enid602
No; bring 'em together in a unity ticket. McCain's banking on the fact that bruised egos will keep this from coming about. A unity ticket maybe the only way to beat McCain.

Don't get me wrong; McCain (and the sorry GOP) might not be in any position to win against anyone, let alone the likes of either Obama or Hill. But can we take that chance?

15. Obama's ULTIMATE superdelegate argument
is that he won't be Vice President. Hillary's path to the nomination requires Obama to cooperate, so all he has to say PRIVATELY to the superdelegates is that he won't be V.P. Too bad the political pundits in the media can't figure out that this is Obama's ULTIMATE superdelegate argument. Just because he hasn't made it publicly, don't think that he won't make it privately.
