Notes on the Primaries from Edinburgh
I am currently working in the Scottish Parliament for the Scottish National Party (who are committed to an independent Scotland) and when people figure out I'm an American the first question I get asked, point blank, is Barrack or Hillary?

Most people here do not even realize that John Mc.Cain is a real-life entity- probably because he isn't, but that is beside the point.

Anyways, my experience thus far has been that the Tories, LibDems, Labour, SNP, and even the two Greens here are all banking on an Obama administration. People think that electing Obama will do more to repair America's image abroad because he, unlike the other two, seems to have a grasp on sensible foreign policy and will be a leader that won't go-it-alone middle finger to the rest of the world. He is the dialectic opposite to eight years of the most damaging presidency in terms of European outlook on America.

I can't help but agree.

2. Heh - a cute phrase, whether not the OP actually intended it.

5. The SNP
Want referendum in 2010. We currently run a one-seat minority government over a Labour Party who are good at constantly shooting themselves in the foot (both in Scotland and in London).

I just mailed my ballot back to Oregon! I can finally say I voted for change!

4. I just knew you were going
to say something positive about Obama when I read about what you're doing!

Thank you for your view, insanity.

Go Proclaimers! Go Obama

6. The Scots recognize a leader when they see one, and Obama is a Real Leader
Good Luck in your efforts in Scotland. My father's family came to the US from Scotland. It would be wonderful if Scotland could become Independent after all these years.:toast:
