Clinton campaign may be contemplating an exit strategy
Snip... <One Clinton aide said yesterday: "There is a profound sadness (among the staff). I don't think anyone sees that there's a clear path to victory here."Even trusted aides don't see how she can wrest the nomination from Obama.

Snip... <They are divided over what course she should follow. Some believe she should not drop out until the last contests June 3. Others contend she should exit "gracefully" some time this month.

Ultimately, an aide said, Clinton will decide what to do in concert with her husband; staff won't be consulted on so momentous a decision. The aide and others associated with the campaign requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak for the campaign.

Some members of Clinton's circle are thinking through conditions under which she might concede the race.

One Clinton supporter familiar with the campaign's operations said she wants to go out on a positive note — say, after winning in West Virginia and Kentucky, whose primaries are May 13 and 20, respectively.

1. Solis and Wolfson started shopping book deals, they wouldnt unless it was over
Because there wouldn't be time to write them if the campaign was continuing.

Its over, the only thing happening now is Hillary fleecing people for money.

3. Terry McCauliffe (sp?) was on Morning Joe in a GREAT mood
He was laughing and joking around. HE said she was going to win 3 out of 4 elections. He said he might add Oregon to that list. It scares me to see him that happy. I hope they don't have some sort of carp to dump on him before the Oregon vote. I don't trust them. Oh and he also said that Clinton will have the popular vote lead. I think he is including Michigan, Florida and Puerto Rico.

8. Right? I was going to mention that someone forgot to tell McCauliffe, I saw that too this morning.
It's no wonder that some Hillary supporters think there really is a chance if they saw his performance this morning. He really should cut back on the caffeine.

4. Meanwhile, Obama gets to foot the bill..
man, this is like some kind of sick divorce.. I've been saying all along that Clinton has been treating Obama like a sleazy ex-husband.. Now she wants "Alimony" while she's out spreading bullshit about him..

The woman scorned, but by the Wrong Man, shoulda kicked her Real husband to the Curb, but then she couldn't run for Prez after that.. :)

6. The public story is that HClinton fights on valiantly to the floor in
Denver.

The Clinton people in each state and on her own staff, of course, know she's lost the nomination.

Hours they may have spent at headquarters I bet are now given over to updating resumes to send out.

7. She is not stupid.
She has a variety of exit strategies in the works, but those are Plans F-Z. Most, if not all, of her energy is still focused on Plans A-E which somehow gain her the nomination.

But I can't say this often enough: she has to pretend to be in it to win it, even if she is starting to plan a way out. She will try to act like a winner right up to the moment she concedes, if she concedes, and part of her exit strategy will be continuing to look like a winner.
