Obama could bring us a landslide....
Edited on Fri May-09-08 03:13 AM by DB1
Obama could mean a landslide victory, just think about it.. no link.. just thought.

He has astronomically raised more in small amounts than anyone before.
He has continuous cash flow because of this, which will will sustain him through the general election.
He is beholding to no corporate influence.
He is not beholding to the pharmaceutical or insurance industries.
He is supported by conscientious unions.
He has been against the bogus Iraq war since before it started.
He won the vote in Iowa which is 96% white folk. (for you closet bigots)

He is, when I look at him the encapsulation of my heroes and my white
father, who taught me when I was young, that color of skin did not mean
shit, my father was born in Wisconsin and grew up in
Chicago and fought next to black Americans in world war 2 and told me
there was NO difference in skin color and never would be. We are all the
same, and of that I could not be prouder. My dad may have had his
shortcomings but prejudice was not one of them.

He is JFK
He is tolerant.
He is RFK
He is Educated.
He is MLK.
He is our gateway to a progressive America.

Just a reminder DU, we have the best of America ahead of us. We just have to wake up and work a little.

1. the most important - massive voter registration
20 million??

so far 3.5 million

If you can get 1.5 million to give money you should be able to get 20 million to register to vote.

2. He shares the trait found in Democratic winners - charisma.
Dukakis, Mondale and McGovern didn't lose because they were too far to the left, they lost because none of them had any personality.

Kennedy, Johnson, Clinton and now Obama are all characters with the ability to persuade others. That's what makes them winners.

9. He is Obama.
You know, people will start saying that one day soon.

"I knew Barack Obama. I served with him. You, sir, are no Barack Obama."

13. McCain unopposed would lose in a landslide.
In November Iraq will be raging, gas will be $5.00 & god knows what else.

Don't forget those. He will not only bring us the WH, but governorships, state legislatures, Congress-folks, and Senators.

19. Yes. I was going to put in my OP....
the story of a guy I heard at our regional caucus who stood up and said that after JFK, RFK and MLK were assassinated he crawled under a rock and it wasn't until now that Barack Obama inspired him to crawl out from under that rock.

20. Don't forget his 50-state strategy, which is energizing down-ticket campaigns
in Red states and will amplify Obama's efforts there in November.

IMO in any endeavor there's nothing like adding thousands of people who have deeply personal stakes in attaining the outcome you desire.

While most of the media focus on a few Blue and near-Blue states Hillary has targeted for a "horserace", Obama's forces of change have clear fields of action in many other states that well may be in play in November for the first time in many years.

23. Let us not forget vote suppression and other hankypanky, 'k?
I really hope his campaign is gearing up for this. Kerry said he was, but that was an awful letdown.

since the 19th century was in 1932, I am not holding my breath on this one.

28. Presuming an honest count...
Assuming he runs a halfway decent campaign, Obama could crush McCain. What worries me more is the votecount.
