CNN: Rush Limbaugh urges vote for Obama
Edited on Thu May-08-08 12:12 PM by The Night Owl
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- He has publicly urged Republicans to vote for Sen. Hillary Clinton to keep the divisive Democratic nomination fight alive, but talk radio host Rush Limbaugh said Wednesday he really wants Sen. Barack Obama to be the party's nominee.

"I now believe he would be the weakest of the Democrat nominees," Limbaugh, among the most powerful voices in conservative radio, said on his program. "I now urge the Democrat superdelegates to make your mind up and publicly go for Obama."

"Barack Obama has shown he cannot get the votes Democrats need to win -- blue-collar, working-class people," Limbaugh said. "He can get effete snobs, he can get wealthy academics, he can get the young, and he can get the black vote, but Democrats do not win with that."

...

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/07/limbaugh.obama/?iref=hpmostpop

So, when Rush Limbaugh was urging listeners to vote for Hillary Clinton, many Obama supporters argued that he wants Clinton to win the Democratic nomination because she is a weaker candidate than Barack Obama. Of course, now that Limbaugh is saying that Obama is a weaker candidate than Clinton, they suddenly stop relying on him to determine who the strongest Democratic candidate is.

26. Right!
We'll see how much he can help Obama in KY and WV! He gets a chance to prove his worth. If Obama wins either of those states or comes within 5 points, I will give Rush the credit.

Let me see if I get this Operation Chaos. He was telling his dittoheads to vote for Hillary because she would be the best person for the Repubs to run against? But now, since that strategy hasn't worked, he wants his supporters to vote for Obama because he will be easier to beat in November? What a windbag!

that Obama won't actually steamroll them. Good luck, boil-ass.

8. so Rush - you encouraged people to vote for HRC because then McSame could have an easy win, and now
you try to sell Obama as someone who can't win... LOL! You can't have it both ways.

:eyes:

You are scared to death that your operation Chaos failed and now McSame will have to debate Obama! There is NO WAY Grampa ChipmunkCheeks can best Obama in a debate and you know it.

9. Well then
Vizzini: But it's so simple. All I have to do is divine from what I know of you: are you the sort of man who would put the poison into his own goblet or his enemy's? Now, a clever man would put the poison into his own goblet, because he would know that only a great fool would reach for what he was given. I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But you must have known I was not a great fool, you would have counted on it, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me.

The best way to interpret what Rush says is to completely ignore him.

13. Of course he does.
And when did he do this? Right after it became engraved in stone after NC and Indiana that this was over. So now it's "Oh, we want this to happen! Yep, all according to plan! Obama is the most horrible candidate that we're so going to destroy in the GE!"

Obama scares the shit out of him. He and every other thinking person in the country knows that encouraging his supporters to vote Obama in the primary NOW accomplishes what? Nothing. It's already done. If he wanted Obama to win he would have encouraged his voters to vote for him when there was still any possible sliver of a doubt as to the outcome to make sure he got the result he wanted. But he waited until it was completely and absolutely settled, THEN all of sudden Obama is the one they want to run against.

Right...

16. I wonder if the bandwagon will support his weight
(I usually eschew fat jokes, being fat myself, but this one was irresistible)

Now that it is inevitable, he's wants to pretend he has some influence on the outcome.

17. Cheap and transparent hucksterism...
Now that an Obama nomination appears inevitable, Limbaugh pretends that's what he wanted all along. If HRC had won, he would have done the same thing, except he would have said that the Democrats had abandoned black and young voters.
Anything to take the heat off of the GOP's staggeringly weak nominee.

18. He's playing with the superdelegates minds
He's just playing with the superdelegates minds. He probably figures by doing this, the superdelegates will think, "shoot, if Rush wants Obama that must mean Obama is our weaker candidate....I better give my superdelegate support to Hillary. We can't have our nominee be who Rush wants."

20. Operation Chaos was unsuccessfull ...

Translation: Operation Chaos was unsuccessful. He would have had an easy target in Hillary. He could probably just coast with Hillary he has so much old material. Now, he knows Hillary CANNOT win now and it's plain and obvious to everybody but Hillary.

He's moving on to slandering on Obama. End of story. Move on.

The big "HMMMM..." here is how Hillary's language and Limbaugh's are so familiar.

22. Exactly right
He's trying every avenue possible to get Hillary the nomination. All I can think of is he has a much bigger stockpile of ammunition to work with on Hillary than he does on Obama, and it's frustrating Rush that he's not going to be able to use it if Hillary doesn't get the nomination. I think McCain will have great difficulty in beating either Democrat, and Rush knows it...but he knows Hillary has more negatives for him to work with.

for them to beat.

Did you see some of the professional ads they have already made
against Obama.

Fox showed one of them. It ends. Obama is out of touch with ordinary
Americans. Obama--Not Ready to be President. I would say they believe
Obama is our candidate.
