Ex-Clintonite makes press-release goof
Posted: 03:30 PM ET

A former Clinton staffer is now pushing a unity ticket.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Old habits die hard, a long-time Hillary Clinton supporter proved this week when he sent out a press release from his new organization with press@hillaryclinton.com as the contact address.

Sam Arora, a Clinton aide for three years, made the goof Tuesday in a press release for VoteBoth, which is pressing for a ticket that would bring the two Democratic rivals together.

The release said "press@voteboth.com," but linked to the Clinton campaign's generic media e-mail address.

Arora said it was a simple mistake caused by his using an old Microsoft document to make the new one.

"I didn't realize that, when you do this in Microsoft Word, you have to look at what the html says," he said. "This was just me being technically unadvanced."

VoteBoth Folks Ramp Up
06 May 2008 10:32 pm
The Hillaryites who founded VoteBoth are pushing forward. Here's their statement on tonight's results.
HAROLD FORD, JR. ENDORSES UNITY TICKET
Obama Calls for Unity, Opens Door to Idea

WASHINGTON, DC--Democratic Leadership Council chairman and former Tennessee congressman Harold E. Ford, Jr. tonight endorsed a “Dream Team” ticket with both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Speaking on MSNBC, Ford said, “I think it's something that this party is going to have to think very seriously about in the next few weeks.”

Senator Barack Obama left open the door to sharing the general election ballot with Senator Hillary Clinton as he spoke this evening to supporters in Raleigh, NC, and addressed the unity the Democrat Party needs, saying:
“Tonight, many of the pundits have suggested that this party is inalterably divided – that Senator Clinton’s supporters will not support me, and that my supporters will not support her. Well I’m here tonight to tell you that I don’t believe it. ...This fall, we intend to march forward as one Democratic Party, united by a common vision for this country. Because we all agree that at this defining moment in history – a moment when we’re facing two wars, an economy in turmoil, a planet in peril – we can’t afford to give John McCain the chance to serve out George Bush’s third term.”
VoteBoth founder Adam Parkhomenko responded to the growing support for a unity ticket, saying today, “Instead of nominating the candidate with 50.1% of the vote, we need to consider a ticket with both Obama and Clinton that has won 100% of the vote.”

1. Founded by right hand man of Patti Solis Doyle:
"Its founder, Adam Parkhomenko, is a die-hard Clintonite who was 17 years old when he launched an online drive in 2003 to draft her to run for president in 2004. He went on to become the right-hand man of Patti Solis Doyle, the Clinton campaign director who was ousted in March after a string of Clinton defeats. Parkhomenko left the campaign soon after Doyle did.

The launch of VoteBoth — originally called Clinton/Obama '08 — prompted muttering in the blogosphere about ongoing links between Parkhomenko and the Clinton campaign.

Parkhomenko said at the time that the effort was his idea — but Tuesday's press release may get the bloggers buzzing again."

4. PR says bring Clinton & Obama together..to support a Clinton-Obama or Obama-Clinton
ticket. Note who they suggest first!

After looking at all the goofs of Mark Penn -it seems like if we had a Hillary Administration it might rival a Bush Administration in incompetence. :eyes:

6. I've been researching this little patch of astroturf
Parkhomenko's partner is Peter Feddo.

Parkhomenko and Feddo run voteboth.com. Coincidentally, Feddo and Parkhomenko also ran the "Draft Hillary" fund:

http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/12/07/sr.weds/index.html

Pakhomenko ended up getting hired as Patty Solis-Doyle's assistant and left when she left the Clinton campaign. Feddo, works/worked as a "CivicSpace Content Management System development" specialist:

http://www.ngpsoftware.com/node/77/print

Feddo registered votehillary.org and voteboth.com:

http://whois.domaintools.com/voteboth.com
http://whois.domaintools.com/votehillary.org

Interesting that Feddo is also parking this domain on his server:

http://whois.domaintools.com/solisdoyle.com

I guess I am just too cynical. This can't possibly be an effort coordinated with team Hillary. It's totally grassroots. Totally.

Totally.

Completely.

Absolutely grassroots.

7. Excellent research. Do I detect a little snark in your suggestion of a grassroots
effort? ;)

I really don't see Obama ever selecting Clinton. for one thing can you imagine Bill second guessing your every decision and blabbing "off the record" to get his point out there? It would be suicide for Obama. I also think the Obama's would want to get along with the VP choice and be able to for the next 8 years-I don't see getting along with the Clintons as an easy task/ Lastly her negatives are so high they will turn off some independents as well as some Dems.

This is more SPIN from the Clinton campaign hoping to spin things in their direction. The damage is already done-imho.

3. The Dem nominee should be able to...
...pick the nominee that he feels is best for the presidency and for our country.

He should not be forced, by some PR campaign--to pick someone else.

This is so ridiculous.

Does the manipulation EVER stop?
