Every single time he refers to his "black" father and his "white" mother he brings up race. Who really cares! I know I could care less about what race he identifies himself as.

When he made comments about how he "learned how to be a black man" that brings race out into the open. Why couldn't he just learn how to be a man? A good man? We have an epidemic of men who refuse to grow up, to own up to their responsibilities. We have here in front of us a man, a youngish man, a man that many can relate to. Instead of simply showing everyone what a real man does (and though I didn't vote for him I will give him credit for being a devoted family man) he has isolated the issue with race and it irritates me to no end.

Black man? White man? Hispanic man? Asian man? Native American male? The difference has nothing to do with the color of ones' skin and has everything to do with his character. His simple comments, though unintentional, set relations back a number of years and it infuriates me.
