WHO, exactly, at this point, is THE FIGHTER actually fighting for?
It's obvious she's a fighter.

She fought against the republicans and Bush, except on big issues like

the Iraq War Resolution
off-shore drilling
cluster-bombs for kids
Kyl-Lieberman
telecom immunity

She's a fighter, sure, for the votes of everyone, except for people in

red states
states with large African American populations
caucus states
small blue states
swing states she lost
medium sized blue states she lost
FL and MICH, until after she needed their votes
big states she lost

She fights, because all votes are important to her

as long as they are white votes that can make a show of it that she's electable or
as long as those votes are from superdelegates to overturn the will of Democratic voters

She fights for the sake of the Party, unless we mean

Party unity
the next generation of Democrats
expanding the Democratic base
downticket Democrats

She fights against the architects of the Republican hate media, except for

Scaife
Limbaugh
Drudge
Murdoch

She fights for the good of regular people, except for

what her gas tax holiday actually would do to them
that she's beholding to special interests and PACs
that she thinks lobbyists represent regular people
that she said "screw 'em"

She fights to be a role model for young women, except when she

lies about Bosnia and tells tall tales about her foreign policy "achievements"
co-opts many of the the worst stereotypically male traits

She fights for her principles, which is why

she shook MLK's hand and then became a Goldwater Girl
she voted against ethics reform
she used robocalls and push polls
she prayed on voter fears with smear ads
she changed her stance on the war in Iraq after she began her campaign
she thinks a right-wing flip-flopping war hawk with no new ideas is qualified to be president
she did nothing when her husband said the African-American candidate running against her would brag next that "he doesn't steal cars."

She's fighting for you, which is why she needs you to

pay off her campaign debt
pretend she's been vetted recently
believe Reverend Wright still matters
pretend she's a viable candidate despite less votes, delegates, states won, donors, volunteers, and no resources
believe its more important to act like republicans to overturn a Democratic election instead of acting like Democrats to nominate the candidate who the people have backed to win against republicans in the general election

Who, exactly, is the fighter fighting for now?

1. A fighter would have thrown in the towel.
It takes a backbone to admit when you're defeated.

2. She's fighting for the half of the party
that supports her.

You guys act like she's a pariah among Democrats - well, she's about as popular as your guy. More so, according to some polls.

3. and that's why I'm fighting back. She can't win by any ethical stretch.
If the shoe were on the other foot, you'd be calling him an egomaniac and selfish and calculating. Well, there's actually a record of her actions that demonstrate her self-interest. She can fight on, but she doesn't get a pass.

6. By either votes or polls
she's about as popular in the party as Obama, so it's silly for you guys to keep acting like she's not.

she does as well as or better than obama.

Clinton is as popular as Obama, despite the impression you'd get from reading this board.

17. The Clinton brand . . .
Say anything, win at all costs. Loyalty over competence. Sound familiar?

The good news is that brand of politics is soooo last century.

The good news for us in the "ABC" crowd is that unless she exits this race gracefully, she will so have damaged the Clinton brand and her political future, we will never have to deal with her again . . . unless we are unfortunate enough to serve on the Walmart or other corporate board with her.

You can fool all of the people some of the time and you can fool some of the people all of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time. It finally bit Hillary!

29. I would say the ignorance of the Hillary supporters quoted below is staggering
With Clinton posing alongside pioneering Indy speedster Sarah Fisher, there were almost no African-Americans to be seen. Many in the white, working-class crowd were simply not ready to back Barack Obama - for reasons that are disturbing.

"I'm kind of still up in the air between McCain and Hillary," said Jason Jenkins, 32, who cited information from a hoax e-mail as a reason to spurn Obama.

"I'll be honest with you. Barack scares the hell out of me,"he said. "He swore on the Koran."

Obama did manage to pull in many white voters, but still encountered similar sentiments from a man who refused to shake his hand at a diner in Greenwood, Ind.

"I can't stand him," the man said. "He's a Muslim. He's not even pro-American as far as I'm concerned."

26. The survival of the DLC
And it does not deserve to survive. THAT's what pisses me off. It's not Hillary. It's this fucking goddamned anti-Democratic, anti-middle class, treasonous foreign policy based on whatever AIPAC or the oil companies want, corporatist CANCER which has infected the Democratic party for a quarter century.

We have a genuine opportunity to rid ourselves of these frauds. And that's more important than holding on to the Clinton Myth.

27. It's always been about her
I have to believe that.

At this point in the game it has to be clear to anyone that her number 1 interest is herself---winning the Presidency. She felt it was due her and to hell with anyone who gets in her way now. She probably should have run four years ago but she didn't see Obama coming.

Now it's just tantrum and denial time.

Anyone voting for her at this stage must know she doesn't care about the party or her country or voters. It's all about her.
