4. It's easy to be nice to the person you just bloodied to a pulp.
I wish a few in here would get a reality check. Actions have consequences.

13. "Actions have consequences"- of
course they do.

And we each as individuals are responsible for our actions. If I don't like someone doing something offensive to me, I can't do something offensive to them in return- while trying to "justify" my own 'bad behaviour' by pointing to the first offense, and claiming immunity.

My participation in the circle of negative actions only keeps the downward spiral alive.

It is easy to fight back. Refusing to stoop to doing what we believe is wrong in response to a wrong is HARD AS HELL sometimes.
But in the long run it is always the best response.

peace~

16. Yes
If we refuse to change our own ways, we are no better than we perceive "the other" to be. We become what we hate, and no one wins.

Why propagate the mean-spirited discussion? It serves nothing.

Though Clinton herself has been nasty, I'm not going to attribute all of that nastiness to all of her supporters. This would be like the ridiculous people who are pissed at Obama for the the jackassery of his supporters on DU.

17. Do you think people can't change their minds...
And their perspective? From my POV, GWB is the KING of stubborn and his refusal to change with the changing tide has been disastrous for the entire world.

The ability to shift one's own perspective, and to attempt a change for the good of all concerned is quite admirable.

What I'm finding interesting is the refusal of some to believe this can happen. I think this points to a general disregard for fellow human beings.
