Wasserman Schultz...how does she do it with a straight face.
This video was just posted in Video Politics forum. It is Ed Schultz on Larry King being honest about Florida's delegates and Debbie Wasserman Schultz spinning her head off and twisting and turning.

Schultz and Schultz on Larry King

I have lost all respect for her. And I say thanks to Ed Schultz for taking up for truth and honesty.

Here is the full CNN transcript

She is in denial that Florida voted 115 to 1 to move up the primary. She is stuck in denial...a pretty permanent state of denial. For someone with her intelligence, how does she do it so consistently?

Wasserman Schultz speaks of Dean's combativeness.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a Clinton supporter, said Dean's tone was much less combative than it had been. "He's finally realized it's counterproductive to our goal of electing the next president of the United States to continue to insist on punishing the state," she said.

Actually Dean went public and said there should be a revote in Florida. He gave in and said to you guys...hey, revote or follow the rules and go to the committees. And guess what....Ed Schultz is right. You fought against the revote when Dean asked you to have one.

Dean asked for revote, Waserman Schultz fought the revote

I'm glad that the party has reached the same conclusion that was reached by the congressional delegation a week ago," said U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Florida.

A supporter of Sen. Hillary Clinton, Wasserman Schultz had staunchly opposed a re-vote.

..."Sen. Bill Nelson of Florida, has called for a new Florida primary, although he thinks the national party should pay for it. But Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz says another election would be too expensive."

...."The potential of a do-over is slim to none," said Wasserman Schultz, a national co-chair of Clinton's campaign. "The cost of a do-over is beyond reach. A do-over would be unfair. We still have nerves that are very raw from the 2000 recount in Florida."

How do you do that with a serious face?

I know, let's call all those in favor of breaking the rules by seating FL/MI delegates 'freedom fighters' and all those opposed 'terr-ists' (intentional mis-spell). Sound familiar?

2. I can't decide who has disappointed me more- Debbie or Hillary
Wasserman -Schultz is my congressperson and boy was I proud of her those first few years. I would cheer her when I saw her on t.v., sent her thank you notes when she spoke out on key issues - all in all- I thought of her as the one, saving result of 2004. NOT ANY MORE. These days I'm livid when I see her on t.v.- it started when she refused to embrace or even consider impeachment and has continued to get worse and worse- but this tops it off. She is clearly lying about what happened here and her repeated denial has me over the top. I've been comprising a letter to her in my head repeatedly but have yet to put it in writing because I'm too outraged. HOW DARE SHE (and the rest of the FL Dems who screwed us out of our votes)-- DEMAND THAT THEY CHANGE THE RULES AFTER SHE BROKE THEM? I agree- she's in total denial. This crap about how they are trying to "save the Florida voters from being disenfranchised- give me a break - THEY are the ones who disenfranchised Florida voters- not Dean- not Obama- THEY DID THIS.

Nelson I can understand- he's a Republican dressed as a Democrat and a total wimp anyway but Debbie disappoints me to the point of disgust.

And don't get me started on Hillary....

5. Final bill had Dem support - but Moving up date portion wasn't Dem idea or 115 to 1
The Republican Speaker of the House made it a priority to move up the Primary to January, in violation of both Democratic and Republican National Committee Rules. The Legislature passed the bill, which also included the new requirement that all Florida elections have a paper trail starting in 2008.

Senate Democratic Leaders Geller and Wilson and House Democratic Leaders Gelber and Cusack introduced amendments to CS/HB 537 to hold the Presidential Preference Primary on the first Tuesday in February, instead of January 29th. The GOP - not Dems - defeated those amendments

That is still not a belief that would define a liberal, progressive, conservative, or moderate. At some point, each of those would believe in impeachment - for some reason. It is just a legal consequence of the actions of these people.

In fact - I think impeachment does not go far enough for the war crimes of junior, cheney and rumsfeld. Jail time seems to me to be warranted.

37. Debbie won't help Democrats who run against her Repuke friends.
Progressive, huh? Sure.
http://thehill.com/markos-moulitsas/another-dem-awol-in-fla.-2008-03-25.html

Wasserman Schultz’s disloyalty is particularly jarring since she is co-chairwoman of the DCCC’s Red to Blue program, tasked with wrestling Republican seats into the Democratic column, while Ros-Lehtinen represents one of the three South Florida Republican House seats Democrats are seriously contesting for for the first time in decades.

“I can’t say enough good things about Ileana Ros-Lehtinen; she has been my friend since I was first elected to office,” Wasserman Schultz gushed to the Miami Herald earlier this month.

Here's the "progressive" values Debbie supports when she chooses Ileana over Democrats. From Ros-Lehtinen's Wikipedia page:

Among Ros-Lehtinen's other conservative views include votes against the estate tax on the wealthy, votes in favor of President Bush's tax cuts, for fuel efficiency standards on autos, drilling for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, support of CAFTA, votes in favor of making the Patriot Act permanent, support of the Military Commissions Act, votes in favor of the government's warrantless wiretapping, votes against funding for stem cell research, and votes against SCHIP.

The only progressive value Debbie's buddy supports are gay rights. No shit! In Miami, which has one of the largest GLBT communities in the country. Brave stand there, Ileana, I see why you're worth Debbie's support over Democrats. :eyes:

If Debbie wants your progressive tag to become a reality, she can start by supporting progressive values instead of kissing her Republican buddy's ass.

I don't give a good godd**n if a candidate wears the friggin' "D" as big as their head on each their sleeves and tattooed on their forehead!

Action speaks louder than words and now, with this Presidential election, we discover who the REAL Democrats are and who the 'ringers' are. Wasserman-Schultz is a RINGER.

Oh sure, she talks a good talk on the floor of the House during the 30-something group but when it came down to standing for the Floridians, she bailed like Dumbya did his idiotic "Mission Accomplished" hooray.

They're all whores at the big money troughs and to them, and only them, they are loyal. Not to us pathetic "little people" as Schwarzenegger was taped calling those outside the elite and money royalty. We're good for breeding the bodies for their profitable wars, for working two, three jobs while being drained of our hard-working dollars against the Constitution, and to keep up the farce to the world so they can claim every war is "a war to bring freedom and democracies to {fill in whatever country with enough resources that makes the robben barons of the US drool}.

That Wasserman-Schultz has the gall to blame Barack Obama while SHE was the one so against a re-vote is low. Republican-style low.

What they wanted was for Obama to pay for the re-vote out of his own pocket because he had so much money raised while Hillary's pathetic money pouch was dwindling fast and as elites, they don't believe they have to pay for a godd**n thing in life.

Now I'm starting to believe Alex Jones when he claims that all leaders of the world, particularly in the United States, are chosen via deals and handshakes up in Northern California at the Bohemian Grove - a place Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bill Clinton, Bill Richardson, the Bush family, and others convene - including David Gergen and Rupert Murdoch.

Via this presidential election, as America is poised to get her first African-American President, the ugly rot within the Democratic party is being exposed.

Obama is "the Orkin Man" and that's why they hate him so.

9. Do people realize that if they got their way by BREAKING THE RULES, it just gets worse
Wasserman Schultz has to know that Florida DID BREAK THE RULES. She has to know that Hillary Clinton signed the Four State Pledge...of course, thinking it wouldn't matter since she was going to just get coronated. Then when it turned the other way, suddenly breaking the rules is supposed to be what people are supposed to do?

Are Wasserman Schultz and Hillary Clinton telling young girls that in order to win, you have to CHEAT? You have to have a man like a husband to give you "validity"?

OK. Let's say that Florida gets to count all the delegates and the votes, even though they all knew it wasn't going to count. That's still not enough for Hillary Clinton to win...even if she CHEATS! Is Wasserman Schultz into cheating and poisoning the CLinton campaign more that it already is even though it won't matter anyway?

Is lying and cheating just real easy for these people?

Trying to compare other Florida elections to this breaking of the rules deliberately.

Yeh, Debbie, my nerves are raw because you refuse to campaign against your GOP buddies in South Florida. Being so proud of your relationship with the worst Republicans in Florida...that you sell out your own party.

Here is what the Washington Note said about the Republicans she won't campaign against:

http://www.thewashingtonnote.com/archives/2008/03/venting_about_d/

"But the Diaz-Balart brothers and Ros-Lehtinen are not moderate in any sense of the word, are embracers of Bush's wars, and have been responsible for sustaining a counter-productive embargo of Cuba by the United States that 183 nations of the world voted against us on this past year in the United Nations.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz is helping to defend the political turf of not the best in the Republican Party -- but the worst."

15. Asking candidates "after the fact" for a do over is a dumb idea...
obviously, all candidates will do whatever they think will help them the most.

Wasserman other leaders in Florida (in hindsight) had a bad strategy. Actually, the primary date likely would have been moved even if every Democrat in Florida had opposed it...but it is true that most of the state Democratic leadership went along.

All that being said and all the blame now asserted and acknowledged:

1.) It is TRUE that in a CLOSE election in Florida, failing to count primaries COULD cost the general election!

2.) It is in the best interest of all that Florida and Michigan voters are represented.

3.) It is best to keep this out of a court that could really, really cause a mess that can't be fixed. You can argue all you want; some serious people think there is a possible court intervention out of this, and no one can predict what the judge will do!

I think that it is time for the DNC to reach the obvious solution - find a way to have primary representation from Michigan and Florida asap.

Wasserman Schultz Abandons Florida Dem Challengers
Sun Sentinel | Wayne Smith | March 19, 2008 11:02 AM

Democratic congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is the co-chair of Red to Blue, a Democratic congressional group working to expand the number of Democrats in the House of Representative. Democrats believe for the first time they have a good chance of unseating one or more of the three Republican Cuban-Americans representing South Florida -- Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Lincoln Diaz-Balart and Mario Diaz-Balart.
The Democrats running to unseat them will have to do so, however, without the support of Wasserman Schultz. Her ties of friendship with the three Cuban-Americans are such, she says, that she cannot support her fellow Democrats. She will have to sit this one out. So will Democratic congressman Kendrick Meek, who reportedly has close ties to the Diaz-Balart family.

Some Democrats Have Forgotten How To Oppose Republicans
by Jason Rosenbaum March 24th, 2008 @ 10:00 am EST

Some Democrats simply don't understand what it means to be an opposition party.

Democratic congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, of Florida's 20th district, definitely doesn't get it. As co-chair of theDemocratic Congressional Campaign Committee's "Red-to-Blue Program," a program designed to "highlight top Democratic campaigns across the country, and offer them financial, communications, and strategic support," Wasserman Schultz is supposed to be a partisan attack dog. That's her job, to seek out Democrats challenging for Republican seats and turn those seats from red to blue.

Unfortunately, Debbie doesn't get it.

You see, when three strong challengers from her home state, Annette Taddeo, Joe Garcia and Raul Martinez, decided to take on three incumbent Republicans, Wasserman Schultz, along with another Florida Democrat, Rep. Kendick Meek, refused to endorse them. This left the challengers without the Red-to-Blue money, training, and support they deserve. Why? Because the three Republicans are fiercely for a continued Cuba embargo - the same embargo that has failed to work for over 40 years - and something the Democratic challengers are against.

-snip

Look, I'm not talking about her behavior in the campaign season here. I can't offer any excuse for her behavior on the Red to Blue committee. Moreover, I don't know Annette Taddeo, but I can say with certainty that Joe Garcia and Raul Martinez are both solid guys who would make great representatives. But I'm not talking about politics here. I'm talking about policy. Look at Wasserman-Schultz's voting record and her support ratings from conservative and liberal interest groups, and then tell me she's not a progressive.

51. And doing a good job of it
Despite being off topic...

Schultz is so good at faking he even believes it and so do dozens of top elected Dems that regularly inhabit his show.
And Limbaugh is a gay Liberal doing his best to hide it!

Where is your proof?

39. ...
she is passionate about helping children. I am far from her district
and my Rep is a DINO, I'd like to thank Debbie Wasserman Schultz for that work...maybe
someone reading this will do that for me.

43. She has done good things....but she is damaging all of us now.
By going on TV and getting angry and declaring that the Jan. 29 primary must count fully.

It is a ridiculous argument. She has taken a stand which hurts our state.

49. Lets be honest here . . .
the only reason you are on your crusade against DWS is because of her support for HC. Had she supported BO, your position would have been completely reversed.

50. ED Shultz Is a Uninformed LIAR!
He never has correct info! I listened to him for years..not anymore. Even when I loved the guy, he used to frustrate me with his lack of knowledge on issues of the day...he was always BEHIND the curve. Still is!

52. Remember when Debbie WS said it was out of line to ask her a question
about the 115 to 1 vote? No, it is not out of line to ask.

She blamed Obama for the lack of a revote when she was herself speaking out against it.

It's hard to keep up with the lies sometimes.

53. Schultz' foray into progressive talk has been very good to him. He was just yesterday...
made to reply to a caller that: yes! He used to be & hold conservative views. But as we know, that format is already loaded up with fat-head ego dudes, so?

Off he goes to Pro Talk. Now he flys around the country, free beer free food & steaks for he Wendy & Buck, mouth & mic time at venues in DC, face & cam time beside Tweety & such with others seeking the same. He's been quoting himself on the air & in very high regard of late from these various shows, and for me it's painful to listen to.

Started up his Team Fargo Construction Company (not the name but it may as well be) cashing in even further on this format he's, as I thought Randi alluded to one day: serendipitously discovered behind a back-door grind of radio personalities and viola!!

The Big Eddie Schultz Show!

But he still cuts people off that are smarter than he is, then belittles then when they are gone...real classy guy. Couple months back he accused a woman of being a "Clintonista" plant (his favorite tag for months & months of fair, unbiased media whoring :eyes:) just because she had the info to refute him.
