Thoughts on Hillary's "valiant" effort
As more and more people are admitting it's near the time for Hillary to face the facts and bow out, I'm a little distrubed by some of the things I'm hearing. I keep hearing, "she fought a valiant fight."

let's take a look at that word I keep hearning

val·iant –adjective

1. boldly courageous; brave; stout-hearted: a valiant soldier.
2. marked by or showing bravery or valor; heroic: to make a valiant effort.
3. worthy; excellent.

I cringe a bit every time I hear someone say she fought "valiantly." I think the only word in that definition that might apply is "bold." From my hopefully objective viewpoint, Hillary fought dirty. It was not heroic, worthy, or excellent in any way. It was disgusting to watch a Democrat take their tactics right out of the Rove/Republican playbook. Rather than promoting herself, she tried to scare people away from the other candidate. She blatantly lied on a number of occassions (i'll never forget her "sniper fire" story). With the robocalls, I can't say her efforts were fair, or even legal. Her personal attacks on Obama will have an effect on the general election, no doubt.

Personally, before this all started, I could have gone either way with Hillary. I thought she was OK. She endured a lot with Bill, favored a new health care system, wants to end the war,... sounds good to me. But once I saw her engage in a campaign, I became thoroughly disgusted with her. To me it became much less about the issues than it did about character. I think she embarassed herself.

At this point, even if she does what is right and starts to throw her support to Obama, she's going to look foolish because just a few weeks ago she was saying McCain is better equipped to lead us than Obama is. She's not only damaged Obama in the general election, she's damaged her own credibility.

So was this a "valiant" effort? I think it was disgusting.

1. Exactly.
It disgusts me to see some here trying to mend fences by giving praise where none is due.

2. That's the spirit! Keep it hateful right up until the general -
then hope that near 50% of Democratic voters comes over to your side!

3. If the most recent polls have any merit
that is unlikely to happen

5. where did the hate begin?
I would point out that Barak has made virtually zero hateful statements about Hillary and has not tried to scare people away from her. He hasn't made up stories about being caught in sniper fire. the only thing they could dig up on him was saying soemthing about the people being "bitter" which is a true statement. She dug the hole herself by her shameful actions. i'd like nothing more than to see the fences being mended. but there's nothing wrong with making some true comments about the disgusting nature and negative tone of Hillary's campaign. I don't care who it is, I don't want that crap in my party. leave that for the republicans.

4. I tell you what I would be afraid of if she continues on.
I am afraid that if she wins that she might alienate the other voters with her victory speech. If she won she should be proud about it. I think that if she were to brag to much about over coming the odds to win that she may cause those that did not originally support her to feel chastised and thus they may not vote again. Hey, I could be wrong. It wouldn't be the first time.
