How come we haven't heard from any Super delegates today?

I was expecting a good number to move to Obama today. Are they waiting a couple of days to see if Hillary drops out so they don't have to piss off any constituents for supporting Obama?

1. They're probably waiting to see what Clinton will do
And that's fine. I am worried about a bunch of mostly male superdelegates appearing to push her out...afraid it could backfire and create ill will toward Obama among women voters.

2. Most likely they will give it a day.
If Hillary concedes, they don't ahve to do anything.

The flood gates will open, though.

16. I agree....give her the opportunity to back out gracefully...
...and if she doesn't they'll throw her off the cliff anyway...

7. SDs are trying to allow Hillary Clinton to step out on her own terms...
But if she doesn't, they will take action.

Otherwise the party, as a whole, seems weak and unsure.

10. George McGovern is supporting Obama. I tend to think many of them
are waiting for similar high-level endorsements. I know from looking at Texas politics that many of the super delegates are not high-level posts. Many are just very active in their state politics, but outside of their state noone would know who they are. Those are not the type of people who want to piss off someone with the stature of Bill Clinton. They are going to want someone like Carter, Gore, etc... to announce first.

18. They have.

Barack Obama pocketed the support of at least four Democratic convention superdelegates on Wednesday,
building on the momentum from a convincing North Carolina primary victory.

19. Superds who are also elected officials know better than to endorse
no matter which way they go, they will lose half of their supporters in the
next election cycle.

I suspect we'll see SDs who are not elected officials continue to endorse or flip-flop in the next week.
