The two people I was most disappointed in for endorsing Hillary...
have now switched over. Wesley Clark (my 2004 pick) and George McGovern. That's part of my extreme happiness now.

I can't help but wonder that there's something to it that it's the two I was most disappointed in and liked the most and not just some random supporters. I got this feeling now that this shows the end is near. We have our nominee. We're not Obamaites or Hillarites now, we're Democrats. We can now start on McCain instead of each other.

... the way things are going. Though perhaps not as soon as he'd like (unless she can be persuaded to run for governor there to replace Spitzer).

34. Also, shouldn't Obama reward one of the politicians who helped him win?...
Where is Obama's loyalty to those who helped his campaign if he chooses someone who fought against his campaign, and using Clinton's filthy methods.

I think it would be a slap in the face to all of the Dem politicians who stood up to the Clinton's pressure and vindictiveness to take a chance with Obama.

35. Only here.

In the much wider world he would be the man who won the war in Kosovo and a former Clinton supporter from Arkansas.

The "from Arkansas" part might carry a little taint. But since he spent Bill Clinton's entire political career away from Arkansas serving in the US Army, I don't think he would carry their baggage with him into the general election.

Wes Clark carries far less Clinton taint than Bill Richardson, a Clinton administration official. Yet noone suggests that would be a problem for Richardson as VP.

If Obama found Clark compatible -- #1 non-negotiable rule I should think -- and if it appears Clark would go a long way towards mollifying the Clinton Democrats, then it might be a good idea putting him on the ticket. In 2004 he gave the best "I'm proud to be Liberal" soundbite I have heard in my adult lifetime.

Clark's words should be uttered in by every Democratic presidential nominee as a swearing in ceremony when accepting the nomination! Or the JFK "I'm proud to be Liberal" message. That one was pretty good too.

Clinton? Poor judgment on Wes's part? No one expected the upstart (snort) to do as well as he did. (Obama)

I worked my ass off for Clark for 6 months in 2003-2004, spent alot of money donating to his campaign. But hey, everyone is human even Wesley Clark.

When he went on the Colbert Report earlier this year, he sure sounded like an Obama supporter, until he said he had endorsed Hillary earlier.

18. caught mcgovern on DemocracyNow... sounded like he regretted it even back then
it was almost like an advertisement for Obama (nothing but praise) and an apology for endorsing Clinton... assigning the mistake to gratitude and loyalty.

guess he's less grateful and loyal now

27. Well maybe not.. But he is a Clinton supporter, war hero and white.
This helps swing the people who are uncomfortable with Obama since they don't know him. The fact that he stuck with Hillary makes it easier also for them.

The fact that he never once made any statements that were even remotely negative about obama helps me reconcile to the fact that he supported hrc.

Another person I really like is Clair McCaskill.

45. my wingnut brothers love him. They love him unqualified. That is
amazing if you knew them. Everyone who meets him loves him. He's fearless and brave and the smartest man in the room. He took the war to Fox for a year or so when no one would stand up. He is not afraid to take the battle anywhere and it would soothe a lot of hillarys to have him there. He would be a great VP and he's not a games player at all. He's the genuine deal. Michael Moore called him a gift from god.

and why would anybody be disappointed in somebody else's endorsement? I honestly don't understand that mindset.

Both candidates are good democrats, good candidates, and would make fine presidents. There's no need to hate one in order to support the other.

But he hasn't switched his endorsement. Once the nomination is settled, you can be sure he will be one of Obama's biggest supporters. But I don't expect him to abandon his commitment until Clinton abandons her race. He's loyal that way. Obama will need that kind of loyalty once he is president.
