4. Well, originally I thought you called everyone "sir" just to be condescending...
...that was before I realized that you were simply being polite.

Polite? On a message board? What's he up to? :hi:

Few Americans want anymore of this President with the 28% approval rating. One wonders about that huge number - 28%?

7. Sir, Yes, Sir!!
Sir, No, Sir!!

One, sir! Two sir!

Just funnin' ya.

Yes, it was a line that resonated. That DNC commercial about McCain, in his own words, is devastating, not just from the words, but the general demeanor. This guy is a cave man, a friggin monkey man who grunts and beats on his chest. He'll make Bush look competent and reasonable by comparison.

12. The Line Just Floated Out Of The BBC Coverage On the radio At Present, Sir
One of those 'whoa-doggies!' moments.

A Lot of people who hear that will be struck to nods of agreement, and that is the point of the exercise.

The art of propaganda is to make the hearer feel "Hey, that's just what I think!', and so forge a sense of identity between speaker and audience.

16. boot camp has a theme, and that theme starts with those quotes
Comedy is tragedy plus time. Never more true than the first week or two of basic training.

The smokey the bear hat that appears next to your head, seemingly out of nowhere, its owner bellowing about something, about anything. Funny, now.

Edited on Wed May-07-08 10:50 AM by AndyA
And yet, Barack, you will likely enable him to do so.

America thinks it's going to make history. It will, be it won't be what people think it's going to be. The M$M is controlling the thought process. When they turn on the Dem candidate, it will be short work to guarantee McCain the path to the White House.

Some of us knew better. Some of us knew we needed to fix the PROBLEMS, not make history. Some of us knew we needed to address the abusive corporations, not befriend them as Barack wants to do.

The only - ONLY - redeeming quality I find in Barack Obama is the fact that he has said he will investigate Bush. That alone is the only reason I will vote for him if he's the nominee.

He has continued to vote to fund the war. He has done little in his Senate career to indicate he will really put the people first. His record simply doesn't show that is a priority for him. New carpet and drapes, same old politics. :(

Edit to add: And before the Obama Glee Club shows up, I am NOT a Hillary supporter, either.

10. An Attack Line Of This Caliber, Sir, Suggests He Will Pull The Thing Off Handsomely
If nothing else, the 'long, fl;at, seemingly endless Bataan Death March to the White House' has demonstrated Sen. Obama has the knack for turning an opponent's strengths into weaknesses, and the 'teflon' quality in abundance.

14. Oh, please, ye of little faith. What will be done to Obama that
wouldn't be done to Clinton? And what makes you think his every effort isn't about trying to fix problems in this country? And what makes you think McCain is going to get anywhere with his views, about war, healthcare, the economy, ad nauseum?

It must stink not to have anyone you can look up to. Maybe your attitude has something to do with that. It will not be easy, and I know there will be things done and said I don't agree with, but I have to care because someone has my interests at heart...finally.

36. Keep believing that.
Come January 2009, that and $5 won't even buy you a gallon of gas.

Obama is not the answer to our problems.

Both he and Clinton are second rate candidates at best. We could have done better, but we had to make history.

Obama only cares about you as far as he has to to get your vote. After that, see ya. What has he done in the Senate for his constituents that shows he's the great uniter and problem solver?

42. You think that the MSM was going to let us have a real populist as a candidate?
They framed it as a two-way race from the beginning. Although both the finalists are triangulating centrists, one is not only urging supporters to commit to ongoing involvement, but is also putting resources into it. One is running a campaign that connects with local party activists and builds on what has already been done instead of bopping into town and acting like they don't exist.

From over here in the left corner, there are no really significant policy differences between Obama and Clinton, but being in the reality-based community I can see when I've been out-organized. It would be great if we could have a candidate who was right about damned near everything like Kucinich, an aggressively populist orator like Edwards with a resume as long as Richardson's who could organize like Obama. That candidate unfortunately does not exist right now.

I sure hope the hell you aren't recommending that us lefties should go back to talking to each other instead of our neighbors. If we can't offer good options for ongoing issue organizing to the influx of Obama newbies, that will be our own damned fault. Quit griping and start registering voters.

We need to continue to paint McCain as Bush III, only worse---and make sure everyone sees youtube videos of any of McCain's hot headed statements--perhaps a gifted soul could make a film contrasting Obama's calm style with McCain's reckless one.

20. Yup- it's a winner. Make them all deny that the GOP is not "The Bush/Cheney Party."
If I were the King of the DEMS, I would also encourage everyone to call the GOP "The Bush/Cheney Party"

When pressed on this, ask the GOP/media opponent to use stances from the past 8 years to explain just exactly how the GOP is NOT "The Bush/Cheney Party."

"These policies are not to get you through summer, they are to get them through this election"

Obama on the McCain-Clinton Gas Tax Holiday Proposal.

This is so effective and punchy. The beauty is he can use this with almost any future pandering by McConfused. God I can't wait for the day when we stop fighting amongst ourselves and McC and BO have their first debate. McCain won't know what hit him. You wanna bet on whether McInsane will lose his temper and say something stupid?
