21. I suppose that's true. But if she did win, it means that something truly awful
happened to Obama, which is a terrible thing to have to count on to keep your campaign hopes alive. Ack--how ghoulish.

like an "accident" or something..... she still seems pretty sure of herself despite all the evidence to the contrary.

33. That frightens me, to be honest. The way she said, "It will be me" and "I will win"--
like there is never a doubt in her mind. I don't know why, but that certainty sends chills up my spine.

40. Unfortunately, as most of us now know....
ANYTHING is possible in terms of a "power grab" (i.e. 9/11, Iraq, Anthrax, etc.) without any serious repurcussions. The BFEE has set the bar.

23. I think that's pretty typical
I don't think it's that unusual for candidates to hold on for a little while even when their strategists tell them it's over. She's spent at least 10 years preparing for this, and until last night it looked like things were turning around for her. She's probably a little shell-shocked right now...give her a few hours to process, people!

Though I actually thought Hillary thought it was over too, from the speech she gave. Apparently she slept on it and decided she's still in. Whatever. She's only hurting herself at this point.

41. not surprising....
these ridiculous campaigns are really brutal now--more than a contest--it's turned into the Gladiators.

If Hillary takes some time to come to terms with hitting the wall, that would be understandable. They have to talk prizefighters and race horses out of killing themselves too...

43. I think she's looking at 2012 - reckoning that if she continues to bloody Obama,
though he may get the nomination, he will limp into the GE and McCain will win and she'll get her 'I told you so' and will run in 2012. She doesn't give a damn about the Party or what four years of McCain would mean to America or the world.

There is a NIxonian quality about her -- deep inside I think she believes that if she can hang on she will figure out a way to either win or lay the groundwork for 2012. The Clinton have been trapped before and have always managed to find a way out. I believe she is a megalomaniac and I for one don't think Bill is any saner. In fact, I believe he 'promised her the presidency' and he will do or say anything to make it happen -- even if it's not in 2008.

She is also staying in in the hopes of raising money to pay down her debts.
