I really hope it's Richardson but Clark would be a great, great choice.

McCaskill sounds fantastic as well.

1. When do you think he'll announce his running mate?
Sorry if that sounds like an ignorant question, but I've only lived in this country since 2003, so I don't know when it's traditional to announce VP candidates. Will it be soon after he officially secures the nomination, or will he wait until the convention?

2. I think in a month or there abouts...
They need some time to run the general search and do the vetting process.

17. And you think McCain is going to pick someone we all know?
Edited on Wed May-07-08 11:05 AM by stratomagi
Every Republican the American public is familiar with is not very popular at this point. Someone suggested in a different post he may pick a woman to tap into some resentment Clinton supporters may feel after having lost.

Sebelius is a Democratic governor in a very red state. She could win over heartland and values voters.

22. Well now that the party and candidate can finally train their guns on
McCain we should see him start losing it in very short order.

28. And what color is the sky in this scenario?
Let's see: decrepit warmongering Bush supporter versus charismatic motivating anti-war Democrat.

Yeeeaah... I think you must mean it's now OURS to lose.

8. If the choice is only about "sound" (audio) I like two or three of them...
Obama/Care (Kerry)
or
Obama/Web (Webb)
or
Obama/le (Daschle)

BTW the Richardson and Edwards letter size is better for all VP's. ;)

16. it's going to be richardson.
i saw him on one of the weekend shows, and the way he said "we" when talking about the ticket struck me as kind of odd- unless it's already a done deal that he's going to be the veep.

23. some experience can be a double-edged sword...
too much of a certain kind, and you're suddenly an 'insider' or a politico.

people are looking for fresh blood and ideas.

27. Hate to be a cynic, but I think he HAS to pick someone like Clark or Webb
White, Southerner, extensive unassailable military background. Anything else would be suicidal.
